Chapter 6 by earpsrhot earpsrhot

Is there any way past for her? What does she come up with?

She's seen

Nyssa awkwardly moved up onto her knees, then crouched, preparing to move. If she could slide behind that rock without them noticing, then get to the next...

She took a deep breath and ran as quickly as she could, arms instinctively covering herself, crossing the bare ground.

"Aibnatu al Ghul?" she heard a voice say suddenly, sounding surprised. Daughter of the demon.

Nyssa stopped suddenly, mind racing and cheeks burning, suddenly realizing there was really no good way out of this situation. She'd been seen! Nyssa slowed, reluctantly looking over her shoulder.

Only one of them was facing her just then, but in moments the other five had turned to look at her. The one who'd spoken, a woman with the traditional League veil covering the lower half of her face, frowned at her. Nyssa hesitated.

How was she going to get through this with the least amount of dignity lost? They'd already seen her, and they wouldn't be the only ones if she kept going, so...

She turned, needing to look casual, needing to make a real effort to persuade herself to drop her arms to her side. She did her utmost to act like everything was okay, that she didn't mind displaying everything to those people.

She was conscious of the fact that admittedly her body was perfect by League standards; that wasn't a statement of vanity, more that those that trained and worked for the League often tended to end up marked with scars, while Nyssa had been skilled enough that she had almost none. Those she had received had been in childhood, and had healed over time.

Her breasts were bare, her legs smooth, and a neat triangle of black between her legs was entirely exposed. Nyssa could barely keep from turning.

"Ah, yes, excellent," she said, hoping she didn't sound as embarrassed as she felt.

The assassins hesitated. The woman who'd spoken the first still stared, and Nyssa really hoped it was just surprise at seeing her that made her stare.

"Forgive me but we... didn't expect to see you... so much of you," she said.

"One must always be prepared," Nyssa said. "I wanted to be sure you were not too distracted to not notice someone's approach."

"Oh. That's... did we pass?" she said.

"I am rather close, am I not?" Nyssa said. "Nonetheless, you did register me before I was too close. Work on the skill in future however."

"Yes, aibnatu," the woman said. She hesitated. "Your... garb."

Or lack thereof. Nyssa flushed.

"It was a..." there really was no good answer was there? "Um, reward system. If the test was to see if you could see someone's approach, then the sight should be... a reward."

"A... reward?" the assassin said. Nyssa tried not to just turn and run, especially as the others there looked her over.

"It was not my idea," Nyssa said stiffly. That much was true.

Oh, when she found Sara again...

"Thank you for the test, aibnatu," the woman said smartly. "I hope we were sufficient."

"Yes, sufficient," Nyssa said.

She faltered, utterly embarrassed but still trying to think ahead. Making her excuses and trying to leave was a possibility, and definitely one her mind was screaming at her to do to leave those watching eyes behind, but maybe she could use their help. She was their superior after all.

What does Nyssa choose, run or try to use the assassins to help her get dressed?
