Chapter 15 by daciasdesire daciasdesire

Do I hear back from Yui tonight?

She's left a message in the morning.

I end up going to bed around 4am, one of the draw backs of working nights is that I can never get to sleep too early. I wake up around lunch time like normal. Yui has finally got back to me while I slept.

Her text message reads, ‘So sorry. I had to go out of town for a few days. My parents are sick. Ill be back in a week.”

Feeling deflated, I cheer myself up with the thought of Piya’s little pool party tonight. I fill my day in with a general weekly tidy up of my apartment. Catch up on my washing, change my sheets and well as a clean and polish of the bathroom. My house was actually a bit of a mess. Probably a good thing Yui didn’t see it last night I think to myself.

I dress for the pool party in a pair of blue Billabong board shorts and a crisp white t-shirt. I pack a towel and a change of clothes and slip on a casual pair of Haviana thongs as I leave the house.

Music is coming from Piya’s backyard when I arrive so I let myself in through the side gate. There is a small gathering of roughly ten people.

With all eyes turning to me as I can’t help but notice I am the only guy here. Way to feel uncomfortable.

I find Piya just coming out of the house. She’s dressed in a shiny silver two piece that barely covers her.

The top half has a large piece missing from the centre which shows off Piya’s amazing figure. The bottoms look like they’re two triangles held together. She sees me and comes dashing over to me, throwing her arms around me and hanging herself off me for a moment.

“Ohh I’m so glad you made it!” she says. Piya quickly introduces me to all her friends there and a whole bunch of names are rattled off to me, none of which I have a hope of remembering. I am again even more uncomfortable. “There’s drinks inside if you want one, there’s tonnes of food. I cooked most of it so you probably shouldn’t eat any of it,” Piya says laughing, playing the good host.

I thank her and grab a beer from inside before coming out to join her again.

“There’s no one swimming. They’re all too afraid to get their hair wet. Come for a swim with me,” Piya pleads as she takes me by the hand and leads me to the pools steps. I take off my shirt and throw it on a nearby lounge and ease myself into the water. The water feels amazing. Just cool enough to be refreshing but not cold enough to be uncomfortable. I dive under the water and swim towards the deep end. I’m able to touch the bottom with my head still above the water.

Piya joins me in the deep end, treading water. I lean against the pool wall as she floats in front of me. “I’m sorry I couldn’t get Yui to come,” she tells me. “Poor girl is feeling sick.”

I’m confused. Piya must have got the wrong idea from Yui, she’d told me her parents were sick. Piya must have misunderstood.

With none of the others wanting to swim, Piya and I are left alone at the deep end, we have enough privacy that I can ask her about what I found in her clutch yesterday. “So, I found a little bag of something in your purse yesterday,” I say trying to broach the subject gently.

Her eyes go wide and she grins mischievously knowing exactly what I’m talking about. “You didn’t try it did you,” Piya asks as she swims up closer to me.

“No but one of the barman did. Poor guy. That wasn’t meant for me was it?” I come out and ask her.

Piya puts her arms around my neck and wraps her legs around my hips, using me to stay afloat, she rubs herself against the bulge in my swimmers. “No, I know you don’t need that at all,” she says as I take a hold of her hips and press myself against her. “Its for my boyfriend. He comes home late from work some nights and he can’t get it working. I got it back in Thailand.”

So, does that answer that?
