What's next?

Security Measures

There were a variety of suits in the Batcave. Kate was vaguely aware Batman had gone through quite a variety in his tenure. She didn't know why a couple of them had felt the need to add rubber nipples, but she was content to never find out and never wear those. Instead she was left with the rest.

She wasn't going to remake all of them, but it did help to have more than the one suit to put on. The red bat and tweaks to measurements had been made to just one already, so she was just applying it to another.

"Whoa, whoa, what are you doing?" Luke said as he walked into the cave.

Kate only looked up with one eye.

"Something dreadful and unforgiveable apparently," she said. "Relax. I wanted a spare, that's all."

"You can't just take a batsuit off the rack!" Luke said.

"Evidently I can," she said. "What's the big deal? We've done this before."

"Yeah, but that was one I vetted first," Luke said. "It's Bruce, he doesn't like people touching his things, a couple have traps on them. Can't have just anyone going out there looking like the Bat."

"It's not zapped me yet," Kate said. "Seems fine to me."

"Maybe," Luke said.

He eyed the suit warily. Kate rolled her eyes, before whipping off the stencil, the redesign mostly complete. One more thing for Batwoman to wear.

"I feel like going out," Kate said, before continuing teasingly. "I'll let you know if it bites."

She headed into the side room to get changed. Even if they were working together, there was no way she was comfortable enough to do that in front of Luke.

She emerged a minute or so later with the red wig trailing out from beneath the mask, fully suited up.

"See?" she said. "Fine. Let me know if anything pops up."

Distracted, Luke nodded. She spotted him checking the inventory of suits as she was heading out. She didn't know what he was worried about, clearly she could wear it just fine. It clung a bit tightly, but it was her first time in this one, she could expect that much.

She kept to the rooftops, lurking in the shadows of the city. After a few minutes she slowly started to realize it was beginning to feel a little colder. Yes it was a Gotham night, but the suit usually managed conditions just fine.

She looked down, and only years of training kept Kate from immediately crying out. The tight leather-looking armoured covering of the batsuit was... dissolving was the only word for it, black that could withstand bullets was turning to stray threads. She swallowed, keeping very, very quiet so as to avoid attracting any attention, and crouched down to let the rim of the rooftop hide her.

She really didn't want anyone looking up at her just then.

As her bare knees touched the ground, she tapped her comm.

"Luke?" she whispered urgently.

Slightly frantic, she crossed her arms over her breasts as they swiftly became exposed to the air.

"Let me guess," Luke said. "The suit did have a security measure?"

Kate coughed. By the time she got up the willpower to speak, she was entirely naked, even the mask fading to nothing. The red wig she wore fell from her head and hit the roof, brushing past tattooed skin on the way down.

Kate was admittedly proud of her tattoos, but that didn't mean she wanted the whole city to see them.

"Feels like it," Kate said. Her cheeks warmed. "Any chance you can offer some help?"

Does Luke have anything to say? Is it really that easy to get out of one of Bruce's security traps?
