Chapter 2 by MistWolf MistWolf

Who is going to lose her clothes?

Robin (Stranger Things)

Robin is a main character introduced in the third season of Stranger Things. She works at the Scoops Ahoy located in the Starcourt Mall alongside Steve Harrington. She is portrayed by Maya Hawke.

History :

Background :

1985 :

Audiences first meet Robin working at 'Scoops Ahoy' with Steve Harrington. Throughout season 3, we don't learn a lot about her past, but we learn she has been in Hawkins for a while as she attended 'Hawkins High School'. She tells Steve she would sit behind him in class and noticed him being late every Tuesday and Thursday. The main thing she noticed about his presence in class wasn't him, but the fact that her crush, Tammy Thompson, couldn't take her eyes off of Steve, which made her jealous.

When Robin and Steve start working together at 'Scoops Ahoy', the two don't get along very well at first. Robin becomes accustomed to running a tally of Steve's successes and failures of picking up dates and often referring to him as 'dingus'. When Dustin intercepts a Russian message and asks Steve for helping to translate it, we learn that Robin had been in a band for 12 years and is fluent in French, Italian and Spanish.

Personality :

Robin is first seen to be somewhat sassy and sarcastic towards Steve alongside him while working at 'Scoops Ahoy'. She often teases Steve for his attempts of flirting, his friendships and just about anything else. As well as this, Robin also will tease any of the customers she has issues with, such as Erica Sinclair. Robin is often heard saying snarky remarks toward Steve and Dustin when they are trying to figure out the code that was overheard from Dustin's 'Cerebro'. Enthusiastically, Robin asks to help the boys decode the message as she is fluent in French, Italian, Spanish and has been in a band for 12 years. Eventually, she figures out the code and shows that she is quite bright. We learn that Robin is smart academically but is very street-smart.

However, as the season progresses it is seen that a lot of her snark was a way of protecting herself. When she and Steve are caught by the Russians, we learn that Robin has faced adversity because of her differences. She has become street smart because of her past, which helps her to think of a plan to break free from the Russians - though it ultimately fails. We also learn she is somewhat impulsive, as shown when she spits on the face of one of their Russian captors.

Later in the season, Robin reveals to Steve, after he expressed his feelings to her, that she identifies as a lesbian. She explains that when she previously said she noticed him in class, it wasn't because she liked him, it was because Tammy Thompson liked him and she wanted Tammy to look at her the same way. Evidently, this is very hard for Robin to admit because she's afraid of what it might mean for the friendship between her and Steve. Steve, however, accepts this of Robin and the two go to help the kids fight the Mind Flayer.

Relationships :

Non-Familial :

Steve Harrington :

Robin and Steve attended Hawkins High School together. Though Steve didn't know her during his schooling, they eventually became friends after working together at 'Scoops Ahoy'. At first, they expressed a dislike towards one another. Robin would endlessly tease Steve and Steve would more often than not simply ignore Robin. However once they are swept into the mystery of the Russian messages and the Mind Flayer's plan, the two learn more about one another. By the end of season 3, they are shown to be close friends and end up working together at their local movie rental store.

Erica Sinclair :

Erica Sinclair was a frequent customer of Scoops Ahoy who annoyed Robin as she kept asking for samples of different flavors of ice cream. However, when Dustin couldn't fit into the air vents to get to the secret room at the mall, Robin asked for Erica's help as she was small enough to fit in through the vent. Erica, agreed to help, on the condition that she gets free ice cream for life, which Robin accepted. As Erica climbed through the vent, Robin guided Erica to the secret room and seemed relieved when Erica made it out of the vent and entered the room safe and sound.

Tammy Thompson :

We don't learn who Tammy is, but we do know that she was in the same class as Robin and Steve at Hawkins High School. We learn that Robin had a crush on her throughout high school and confesses this to Steve. She would notice Tammy looking at Steve when in class, but wished that it was her she was looking at.
