Mackenzie shuffled her feet (paws, technically, still in the costume) and took a step back.

"I-I'm sorry, but I insist. I'll just go and drop off the costume and then head to my new station."

The man huffed. "Well, alright then. If you're sticking to your guns, I'm sticking to mine."

"Excuse me?" Mackenzie asked as the man started to storm off.

"Someone is taking that costume off of you, one way it another. Since you refuse, a security guard will have to suffice." Mackenzie began to protest, but the man cut her off. "We've both made ourselves clear. I'll be seeing you again shortly."

For a few seconds, Mackenzie could only watch him walk off. Shortly thereafter, her mind went into a panic. The redhead knew that she was in trouble, and that she'd be in even bigger trouble if she didn't get a uniform, fast. The problem being, the mascot suit was definitely not built for speed. The idea crossed her mind of stowing the suit somewhere, then running to find a uniform so she could go back and retrieve it. Of course, Mackenzie wasn't eager to try that plan; without Cathy, that run would be a streak.

Keeping the Cat on wasn't so appealing either. Sure, she'd be covered- up until the security guard inevitably caught up to her sluggish, stumbling self. Then she'd be humiliated AND out of a job. Given the man in the suits seemingly superior status, she might even face legal action, which definitely not something Mackenzie could stand.
