Shrines
Shrines are small to medium structures, commonly made of stone, that are devoted to a single purpose. They have often not been designed with shelter in mind, so it is rarer to find creatures living in them than it would be for cabins and other structures.
Some shrines are intended for religious worship and may allow someone to communicate with gods or spirits.
Other shrines have been set up to facilitate specific magics. They may act as hubs for magical transportation or communication.
Shrines may contain writing within which explains their purpose or function, but it may be written in a dead language that could be difficult to decipher.
