Chapter 5 by gramana gramana

What's next?

Through the Mirror

Eva wasn't sleeping. She knew Iris was - still vividly remembered her glimpse of the nude reporter as she'd gotten ready for bed - but Eva hadn't seemed to need to sleep quite so much ever since she'd come to this world.

Instead, she walked to one of the building's many more hidden rooms, and went inside. There was a mirror resting against the far wall; she focused on it.

The image in it changed. Rather than reflecting the drab, empty interior of the mirrorverse, it was showing a much warmer environment. Fabrics, soft surfaces, carpets and blankets and cushions in stark contrast to the sparse lab-like setting Eva found herself trapped in. A window looked out onto a city outside, flickers of lights and movement and shadow. People.

If she closed her eyes and really listened, she could hear traffic. Muted yells, cars and vehicles, things she'd been missing for so long.

It was night. The lamp in the house cast gentle shadows. For a moment, Eva just stared longingly out.

And then someone who looked for all the world like Iris West-Allen walked into view; she stopped in front of the mirror, eyes briefly flickering in surprise as she saw Eva on the other side of the mirror.

The mirror duplicate of Iris looked around for a moment, making sure she was alone, before turning her attention back to Eva through the mirror.

"What else must I do?" the duplicate Iris said, ever-loyal.

The duplicates were hers. They would follow what Eva said without question; in a sense, they were reflections of her. She made them, after all.

"Are you in place?" Eva said.

"They don't suspect a thing," 'Iris' said. She looked back again. "My... her friends are coming over for dinner soon. I don't have long."

"This won't take long," Eva said.

That should be it. She just needed to make sure things were okay. Although...

Again, she remembered walking into Iris's room, she remembered a rush of heat unlike anything she'd felt for six years. Eva swallowed.

"Take off your shirt," Eva said.

Iris's double hesitated. Eva blinked too, questioning herself as much as her creation likely was. Yes, the reflections were her servants, but they were still genuine people in their own right - she still had feelings, still had reasons to blanch, even if she loved Eva enough to want to free her.

"For... a check," Eva said quickly, convincing herself as much as Iris. "I... saw Iris today. I would like to make sure you are correct in every detail. Understood?"

"Of... of course," Iris said.

She hesitated, before obliging, slowly lifting the simple red shirt up over her head. She carefully put it down, professionalism ensuring the only hint of her self-consciousness was the moment of uncertainty before she met Eva's eyes. Then, at a gesture, a little more slowly she undid her bra as well. After a second, that was slipped off too.

She crossed her arms on instinct. It took a little bit of willpower for her to reluctantly lower them, baring her topless form to Eva.

"Is it satisfactory?" Iris said, the slightest tremor in her voice.

Eva's breath caught in her throat.

She really did look perfect. By which she meant, exactly like the real Iris, right. Eva stared. Okay, she hardly had a wide experience to compare Iris to, especially not recently, but Eva was content in considering this one of the most beautiful sights she'd seen for a long, long time.

"Very satisfactory," Eva said. She swallowed. "Take off the rest."

The duplicate faltered.

"I don't have much time," she said. "Her friends..."

"Won't suspect you just because you wanted to get changed," Eva said. "You will obey."

There was a slight tremble to Iris's movement as she stood up, carefully undoing her pants. She looked up into the mirror, as if Eva would back out now - unsurprisingly, Eva didn't. She barely blinked as Iris slid her pants down, baring her long, smooth legs. A second later and her panties joined them. Iris stepped out of her clothes, and made herself stand up straight as if presenting herself to some kind of military commander.

Eva hadn't had a particularly good view of Iris's sex before; that very much wasn't the case here. She could see the bare triangle of skin, the crease of skin at the top of her hips, and make out the lips themselves, Iris's most private of spots revealed for her. Unconsciously, Eva licked her lips.

The double's self-consciousness somehow added something. Maybe it was just that she'd seen Iris panic at being seen naked that she just associated that kind of flustered response with what she wanted to see - Eva knew she was smart, but her field wasn't human psychology. She was the least well equipped to process the strange mess of feelings that had been sparked. She just knew the result: she really, really wanted to keep looking at Iris's naked body.

WIth how accurate a mimicry the duplicate's breasts were, she felt content enough in saying that the rest had to be right as well. She might as well have been looking at the real thing.

Eva pressed her legs together, sat down and craning forwards towards the river. On the other side, Iris fidgeted.

"Is it done?" Iris said.

"Turn around," Eva said. "I... One last thing to check."

Iris didn't respond that time. Still, she obeyed without question, turning on the spot to reveal the ass Eva had only ever seen through tight pants. Eva inhaled.

"Most... satisfactory," Eva said slowly.

"May I dress now?" the duplicate Iris said.

"In a moment," Eva said.

Iris squirmed. Eva wasn't sure what she was waiting for, just that she didn't want to look away so soon.

Then there was a click of a front door. Eva's eyes widened, and she quickly waved her hand, concealing herself from the other side: for people in the real world, the mirror would seem like a normal mirror, even as Eva continued to watch through it.

The door to the West-Allen household opened. Barry walked in, and was only a couple of steps in before he froze. Caitlin walked in behind him, and managed to get to his side before she froze too - Cisco, Joe, Cecile, Kamilla and Allegra bumped into Barry's back, all stopping for a moment as they caught sight of what was, to all intents and purposes, a view of Barry's wife stark naked.

"Um. Iris?" Barry said.

Iris stared, frozen for a moment, eyes wide as she struggled to both slip back into character and process her embarrassment. Then she yelped, and turned around to run for an adjoining room.

"I'll talk to her," Barry said quickly. "Sit down, make yourselves at home."

Then he was off. Eva waved her hand, shifting the view in the mirror from the main room of the home, to looking out from the mirror in the bedroom. Iris had her arms crossed, and was catching her breath for a moment before she got dressed. Eva stared.

There was something infinitely more appealing about seeing her like this, seeing her body bare, but natural - she was standing, she was slouching, she was shifting her balance... It was different to the stark... artificiality of seeing how she presented herself when ordered to.

"Iris?" Barry said. "We arranged today to be a dinner with everyone, don't you remember?"

"I remember!" Iris said, very quickly. Her cheeks had darkened somewhat. She used catching her breath as an excuse to wait and work out a lie. "I was just getting changed. Thought you'd be a couple of minutes longer. That's all. Just... give me a moment."

"I'm sure no one will say anything," Barry said. "They're our friends. You don't have to be shy."

"Not exactly what I planned," Iris said.

Barry hugged her, the embrace more natural for him as her husband. After a second, Iris hugged back.

Dimly, Eva pondered a few things. The duplicate was made from Iris, to an extent; what she'd be feeling would be exactly what the original Iris would feel, should she bare herself to all of her friends. There was something intriguing about that thought.

As Iris slowly backed away to dress, Eva waved her hand again, turning the mirror back into an ordinary mirror. She stepped back, mind whirling.

That had been... so much more breathtaking than she'd imagined. She shifted her position, legs still pressed together, not sure the memory of Iris's naked body would ever fade.

It brought several things into focus for her. More than anything, she wanted to put the real Iris in such similar situations.

And failing that, the mirror duplicate of Iris would always be obedient.
