Her bottoms were gone

Mackenzie was relieved to find that, despite the strength of the wave, her top held, the strings still tied right around her neck and torso, albeit slightly looser than before. Of course, any relief she felt washed away in the surf as her hands travelled lower along her body. Finding no fabric around her waist, she reached along the length of her legs, but still found nothing. Mackenzie gasped, before taking a deep breath and submerging herself, confirming her fears.

The lower half of her suit has been swept away by the wave; evidently it's knots weren't tied as well as her upper half. Now, instead of the crimson cloth she had been wearing, the only red below her waist was in the patch of hair between her legs. Looking around under the water, Mackenzie couldn't see her suit anywhere, and as she resurfaced, her cheeks rapidly started turning almost as red as the missing garment.

What am I going to do? she thought, bobbing in the surf. Though the water wasn't perfectly clear, it was hardly good cover, so one of Mackenzie's hands had drifted over to cover her crotch, the other still helping her tread water.

There were plenty of people in the water closer to shore, which Mackenzie obviously wasn't happy about; still, maybe some kind soul would be willing to help her. Of course, the **** swimmer also noticed how many of those people were women wearing two-piece suits like herself. Mackenzie didn't like the idea of stealing, or of letting someone else deal with the situation she was in, but when it came down to it, she'd rather walk out of the water fully dressed herself.

Not liking either of those options, Mackenzie noticed that there was a pier on one side of the beach. If she could swim there unnoticed, she would at least be one step closer to safety, if not modesty.
