Chapter 5 by ARKangello ARKangello

What does Percy ask to sign?

Your Arm Please

"Oh?" Artemis questioned him with a piercing stare. "Whatever for?"

"Honestly it was just the first thing my seaweed brain came up with." He joked. It was hard to tell if Artemis believed him or not because her face didn't change at all at his words.

"Very well. You may write your name on my arm. Do know that it will be gone before you even leave." She finally acquiesced after a whole minute of slowly scrutinising him with her eyes. The stare of a hardened huntress assessing the pros and cons of a situation coming easily to her.

"Thank you my lady." He replied, being as polite and deferential as he could, which was honestly a bit out of character for him, but right now he was so pumped full of anxiety about whether this would work or not that his usual snarkiness just wasn't coming to him at all.

The Goddess offered up her arm to him, and slowly he reached out to grab a hold of it. He hesitated for a moment before he touched her, checking to make sure she wasn't about to change her mind and suddenly slap him down or transform him into a pigmy she could cook for a light snack. She offered no objections. The pen touched down on her skin, and in about 3 seconds flat he had written his name in full.

Percy Jackson's

The black ink stood out against the warm creamy colour of her skin. This was going to be the absolute moment of truth, as Artemis pulled back her arm and stared at the writing now on it. "Hmm. So of everything you could have done, this is it? Perseus Jackson, I really am slightly astounded by you."

Her tone was harsh, cutting like the moonlight through the darkness of a glade at midnight.

"You own me, a Goddess, and the most you can think to do with me is graffiti my skin. On the other hand though, I do... appreciate that you did not take liberties. There are very few males who would have such restraint."

"So." He licked his lips. They were so painfully dry right now. "Just to check. I own you?"

"Of course. I am your property, as I was always intended to be. By my understanding it is a first for the Divine. To be reduced to property for a mortal of all things. But in some ways it does make sense I suppose. A house usually outlasts its owner after all."

And the world was opened to him. This was absolute undeniable proof, and a confirmation that this power that his pen possessed was above even the gods. He owned Artemis. He owned an Olympian.

"So Artemis, does this mean that I own the Huntresses as well?"

"Of course not. You own me, the Hunters are mine. There is no correlation there."

There was. There was an obvious logic to the idea. And yet she couldn't seem to see it. "Artemis, tell me more about what you are planning to do."

"Very well. It is my belief that if the Titan's are truly rising, then their stronghold will also be returning. Mount Othrys will be reforming somewhere, likely in the west. I intend to find it, and determine just what is happening there. In addition I will undertake three other tasks." She stepped back over to the other side of the tent and sat down in a small chair now that she was not welcoming the attentions of her deer friend. "Firstly, there is a powerful Titan who was not cast down into Tartarus with the rest. He received other punishment. If our enemies our moving again, his prison must be checked on. He cannot be allowed to be freed. Secondly, I intend to check in on the Demigods in Camp Jupiter. They will need to be prepared for the war that is to come, as they lie closest to where our foes are massing. And thirdly I intend to hunt the Ophiotaurus. It is a creature that cannot be allowed to be captured by the enemies of Olympus."

Well that was a bombshell and a half. Other Demigods? Camp Jupiter? What was all this about then?

What Does Percy Do Next?
