Boys from school...

Alicia looks flustered as she tries to turn the engine several times at the side of the road. She bangs her fists against the wheel and pouts as you unclip your seatbelt and get out of the car for air. The wind blows your hair a bit as you tussle it over your shoulders.

Alicia slams her car door closed as she gets out of the car as well. She attempts to phone her parents but is only getting her dad's busy signal and her mom's voice mail.

"Shit Alicia, I told you last week this car was making a funny noise the last time we hung out." You said as you kicked one of its wheels.

"I know but my Dad looked it over and said it was fine."

"Hey, Alicia! Is that you?" A familiar male voice called up from a red mustang as it pulled up.

"Jon?" Alicia said with a smile. " Yeah, it's me."

I felt my face flush from sudden embarrassment. What if Jon recognizes me?

"Something wrong? Did your old piece of shit break down Alice?" Steve shouted out from the back of the vehicle.

"Shut up Steve!" Shouted the driver as he pulled over. He jumped out of his car and slammed his door. He had a glimmer in his eye. His dark brunette hair was moused up and gelled. It was Max's 21-years-old older brother Zack.

He must have been back from college visiting again.

It finally clicked that the red mustang was his. I should have known! Of course, he'd be back since graduation is in two weeks, he must be spending time with Max and some of his old younger team-mates this weekend.

Max must be in the car. I thought. My face turned pink. I didn't plan on seeing any of the guys this weekend.

"Sorry Alicia, my old team-mates can be a bit immature still." He said looking back at Steve. "Are you going to Liz's? The guys told me about the party and that some of the girls wanted us to crash it. Almost let these knuckleheads go without me."

He smiled at us both.

"Gotta be the older, wiser, of the bunch and keep everyone out of trouble." He said with a wink towards us.

You usually got Max and Me into trouble! Please!

"Who is this charming young woman." He asked Alicia as he turned his attention directly to me. His eyes seemed to be on fire when he looked at me. I felt my face flush slightly. Does he know it's me?

"Well Zack, that is my cousin Brooke!"

I smiled and waved hello. Of course, he doesn't know it's me! I kept forgetting how I don't look anything like my former self. I looked into Alicia's side mirror that reflected the attractive brunette I've become.

Zack reached out his hand and I gave it a slight shake. His hands felt so strong now.

"Nice to meet you, Brooke! You coming to Liz's party too?"

"Yeah, I hoped to!"

"Yeah, I forgot to let Liz know my cousin was going to come with but I'm sure she won't mind." Alicia piped in.

"Well girls, would you like me to give you a lift? We've got a room but there's only one seat left, one of you is going to have to sit on someone's lap I'm afraid. It should only be 10 minutes to Liz's." Zack smiled and waved for us to get into the car as he walked back and got in his car.

Alicia looks at you to take the lead.
