The Window Shatters

Time seemed to slow down around Aaron, as he stood deathly still in the lounge and watched as the main window shattered. The booming noise seemed to come to an abrupt stop as an eerie silence descended throughout the apartment. Unnerved by the shattering glass Aaron began to step backwards avoiding shards of glass as he cast a wary eye on the door.

On not seeing the hinges shudder, Aaron breathed a sigh of relief. Moving away from the hallway he strode back into the lounge into time to see a large crimson demon effortlessly fly through the smashed window with a lewd smile on their pitch lips. Instinctively Aaron threw himself to the floor but it was too late. The demon turned toward his hiding place and released a guttural snarl from between their predatory lips.
