Buffy improvises

"You want me... to put on... your dress?" asked Buffy.

"Yes, Buffy," Drusilla said with a sigh. "Surely you are not that slow that you have trouble understanding that."

"Er -- no, I'm not," said Buffy. "But I already told you what would happen if I put it on."

"And it's been my general experience that most humans who talk to vampires don't necessarily feel obliged to tell the truth," said Drusilla. "Especially if said human turns out to be a Slayer. Now put the dress on."

If only I had a weapon, thought Buffy as she slowly picked up Drusilla's dress. Perhaps a loose brick or a broken stick or maybe something from that toolbox over there. If only I had a weapon. Then I would not have to put on this darn dress and give myself the shock collar treatment. If only I had a wea--

Then it came to her. She had a weapon. And Drusilla had been foolish enough to give it to her.

"Hey, Drusilla!" she shouted. "Look behind you!"

"Surely you don't expect me to fall for that old--Hey!"

Before Drusilla could react, Buffy had grabbed the dress and using it like a rolled-up bath towel, whipped it in Drusilla's face. Spike tried to react but Buffy was already using the dress to hit him in the face as well. While Drusilla tried to recover, Buffy gave her a quick punch to the face that by some miracle, knocked her down. Then she pushed Spike aside and ran once more toward the basement door, dropping Drusilla's dress on the stairs as she beat a hasty exit back into the sunshine.

"Safe at last!" she shouted as she ran outside.

At least they can't follow me out here, she thought, looking behind her to make sure that no one was behind her.

Actually nobody was behind her. But someone was in front of her -- a fact that Buffy did not realize until she literally ran into the guy. After that, she looked up into the face of the man she had run into and saw... Principal Snyder.
