Chapter 6 by ThomasMoro ThomasMoro

Surely Buffy's problems are not likely to be solved that easily, are they?

No, they aren't

No sooner than Buffy put on Cordelia's jacket than she felt a burning sensation. Her whole body seemed to be on fire. In fact, she felt more pain than she had ever felt from even the worst sunburn she had ever had.

She instantly took off the jacket and threw it upon the ground at which point the pain stopped.

"Geez, Buffy," said Cordelia. "You could have just handed it back to me."

"You don't understand," said Buffy. "There's something wrong with your jacket."

"There is?" Cordelia said as she slowly put her jacket back on without incident. "Could have fooled me."

"But if it's not the jacket..." said Buffy.

She turned to the new girl. "Hey, you. New girl. What's your name?"

The blonde girl smiled. "Anya. Anya Emerson. "

"Hi, Anya," said Buffy. "Can you lend me your sweater?"

"Well, I'm really not supposed to interfere, but okay," said the girl who called herself Anya. "You can have my sweater."

For what little good it will do you, she added in a whisper so low not even Slayer ears could hear it.

What happens next?
