Chapter 4 by ThomasMoro ThomasMoro

What does he want her to investigate?

A suspicious college professor

As Peggy entered the main building of the local university, she found herself silently thanking God that she finally had a normal assignment again. When she had been stuck at the SSR office, she had so many nightmares about what her next mission would be and whether or not she would be allowed to go on a mission before she hit retirement age that her current assignment would undoubtedly be a blessing.

Granted, Dooley had not been too diplomatic about the way he described it. Apparently one of the college professors here was suspected of passing information to the Russians but thus far the SSR could get no proof. However, the professor in question did have a weakness for women and Dooley thought they could exploit that to their advantage.

"Do you mean he likes young, attractive college girls?" asked Peggy.

"No, according to our sources, he tends to prefer women who look like you," he answered.

Not exactly flattering but then this was hardly the first time she had to swallow her pride in order to complete her mission.

In any event, she was quite sure that the professor's office was in this building. Perhaps if she went in he--

"It's about time you showed up," said an angry middle-aged man in a tweed suit.

"I beg your pardon," said Peggy. "I must have the wrong room."

"Oh, no, you have the right room. You're looking for the art class, aren't you?"

Not really, thought Peggy, but there was no point making waves. That would only draw unwanted attention to herself and she didn't want that.

"Well, class starts in about ten minutes so you better start getting ready."

"I don't understand," said Peggy.

"What's there to understand?" asked the man. "You're the life model, aren't you?"

How does Peggy reply?
