Chapter 9 by Rowenar Rowenar

What's next?

Meanwhile, at the DEO...

Alex's cheeks were still pink. She adjusted her outfit, then strode back into the DEO, pointedly keeping her eyes on the screens ahead of her. Don't think about how a decent fraction of the field agents had seen her strip down, don't think about how much of the city had seen her-

"Report," Alex said.

Brainiac 5, or Brainy as she always thought of him, quickly stood and moved away from a workstation.

"The woman's face matches that of one Erin Foster," Brainy said. "But the Erin on records has no powers and is based a long way from National City. I suspect she comes from another Earth, with some form of psychic ability."

"Yeah," Alex's cheeks warmed slightly. "Got that. I meant any idea what she's done to my sister, and how we can stop her?"

"Ah. Then no, not without more data," Brainy said. "I've extrapolated four hundred and eighteen thousand possibilities, with eight-"

"I get it," Alex cut him off. "Too many options. How do we narrow it down without..."

She definitely didn't want to end up naked again, especially in front of more agents. Surely there was another-

That train of thought was swiftly curtailed as an alarm started blaring. Both Alex and Brainy turned their attention back to the screen, noticing something be detected. A ship, ok, there was a ship descending. That always seemed to be a bad thing.

About a dozen agents swore at once when they realised the ship was almost right on top of them. Where the hell had it come from?! Something entering the atmosphere had to give a sign, not just appear outside the building.

"It's ok!" Brainy shouted suddenly. "It's ok! I know that signal."

"Brainy?" Alex said.

"It's the Legion," he said. "It's our ship. They must have brought it back."

Alex frowned; the Legion were meant to be in the future, dealing with whatever major threat made it unsafe for Brainy to go home. That didn't translate to going back to their past and scaring the daylights of of the DEO by appearing outside.

Still on-guard, Alex turned and started moving towards the balcony area. The pale ship moved into view; a lone figure flew out of it before the ship started drifting away. Alex quickly identified her as Imra.

The Legionairre landed gently on the balcony; the ring she wore allowed her to fly. Behind her, the ship flew off to a more subtle location.

"Alex," Imra said, approaching and sighing in relief. "Where's Kara?"

"It's... complicated," Alex said. "Why are you here?"

"Complicated," Imra said. She paused. "Only a skeleton crew. We were in the future when we detected temporal ripples heading to our time, starting from here. We got out as soon as we could before those ripples reached us; something's changed the future, something starting here."

"Changed?" Alex said. "Changed how?"

"The crew's still working on putting together what data we have," Imra said. "Could do with Brainy's help. I don't suppose you know anything that could cause..."

"There's Erin," Brainy said. He approached them. "If she is from another Earth, then she's from another timeline. Her influence could be... profound."

"Erin?" Imra said.

"Woman with- some sort of psychic power," Alex said, flushing. "But she doesn't strike me as someone who could have a huge effect on the future."

"I'll see what I can find out," Brainy said.

"I'll look for this Erin," Imra said. She lifted her hand; "The ring helps resist most telepathic influence."

"Most?" Alex said.

"Nothing's perfect," Imra said. "What do you know?"

Erin sat herself down on the edge of Lena's desk. At least now no one was going to hurry out of the office, and there were no clothes left in there so the women in her company had no hope of getting dressed. The only problem was Cynthia; she could breach away easily. Erin made sure to pay special attention to her; she emanated 'friendship' to all of them, that bond making Cynthia want to stay close.

Lena was at her desk, apparently most comfortable there. She pulled her chair close to try and hide what she could under the desk, crossing her slender arms over her pale chest, her face a bright red.

Just as flushed was Kara, squeaking as she tried futilely to make up her mind as to where to hide. Realising she was stuck naked without her powers had led to her darting from sheltered to shelter, behind various features in Lena's office. The moment she saw one that she thought might be better, she ran to it, flashing a bit more of her body each time.

Erin watched, amused.

And then there was Cynthia, who'd opted to sit, knees pulled up to her chest in the most stoic position she could adopt while maintaining the slightest bit of modesty.

Meanwhile, Erin was skimming through Lena's desktop. Whenever she got bored she looked up, sending a pulse of 'never' to whoever first caught her eye. Kara would stop mid-run, only to squeak and flush and run again. Lena would lower her arms to flash her tits, only to yelp and cover up. Cynthia stood up and gave a rather nice twirl, before hurriedly seating herself.

Entertaining. And...

Huh. She blinked at what she read.

"What's a Sablite?" Erin said.

"Th-they work in our R&D department," Lena said, after a little 'friendship' coaxing, still flushing. "An alien race with a natural affinity for dark matter. It's an interesting avenue to explore. Why?"

"Seriously?" Erin said. "I mean, that's what it said, but you seriously just have that lying around?"

"Not lying around, they're downstairs, but- why?" Lena said. She fidgeted, adjusting her arms.

"Dark matter," Erin said. "Says they manipulate it."

"Only of a little scientific interest," Lena said. "We don't know if there are any applications, but-"

"Hold up," Erin said. "You never had the particle accelerator explosion on this Earth?"

"Nothing that merits a 'the,'" Lena said. She squirmed again as Erin started staring at her. "Wh-why?"

"Wasn't the explosion for me," Erin said. "But I know it's dark matter that gives us metas our power. At least on my Earth. What you're saying is that you've got someone in your basement that could theoretically get me an upgrade?"

"I- I don't... theoretically," Lena said slowly, voice high. "Wh-why? What would you do with..."

"No idea," Erin said. She beamed. I'd love to find out."

Imra's on her way, Erin has a plan... What happens next?
