Play a guessing game

"You're going to be doing some guessing. First of all, we all have names we chose for this, can you guess what they are? For each person you miss, there'll be a penalty."

"Uh, okay." You try to think, at least it seems pretty innocent. You manage to keep your eyes above the belt for now, and think through their names. "Simone's Simon, of course." you say, and they nod. "Alicia's easy too, she'll be Alex."

"Bzzzzt!" Alicia says, "It's Alan. That's one mistake."

"What? Shit!" you thought you had that one in the bag. "Sam is still Sam?"

"Wish I had thought of something better now." she grumbled, "But yeah, you got me."

"And Kay is still Kay?" You can't think of a masculine form of that one either, but you think it's unisex.

"Kain." she says proudly. "Two mistakes."

Liz is the only one next, Linus? No, maybe Liam? It's worth a shot. "Liam."

"Three strikes and she's out! It's Lewis." Liz says. Wait, isn't that a last name?

"So what's the penalty?"

"There isn't one, yet. Now we go to the next game. This time you get to guess what our first classes of the day are."

This is one you are pretty sure you know for all of them, easy pickings! But it's also something you can't really explain knowing if they call you out on it, besides claiming Alicia told you. The penalty might not be that bad anyway?
