William, or Will for the still living friends and family, was walking up the stairs of his appartment again, because the elevator was still broken from last week, he looked a bit... defeated, mostly because he was **** to take the weekend, normally he did other things during the weekend, but his patient had canceled for "stuff" and his boss told him to take the next 3 days off, because he did not look like he had any kind of sleep

Which was wrong, he took a 30 minute nap every 7 hours, but anyways, he had to go home, he opened the door to his own appartment, it was smaller than his office, no point in mopping about feeling it, he had 3 days to rest, do nothing..... fuck

First step: check that one game that you were sent "98! That was fast!" A Lie, it took a full 2 days because of the bad internet plan he was on, but he had to keep positive

Second step: take a bath, shave, DON'T CUT YOURSELF, apply the band aid on your cheek, brush your teeth, apply cologne, Regret

Third step: Eat! There's no food on the fridge... order takeout!

Fourth step: take a well deserved na- IT FINISHED THE DOWNLOAD!

It finished! Will was mostly checking the IVR chair, cleaning the dusty thing "Almost a year since i played something, i need to take better care of you" he said to his chair, the chair did not respond, but Will knew it agreed

He was latching himself to the chair, and then heard THAT SOUND

William totally forgot about the food he ordered, he freed himself from the Macabre chair, stood up and went to the door, looking through the peep hole, it was the delivery boy from the chinese take-out place he was a regular at, he opened the door, paid with a generous tip, closed the door

After eating that delicious food, he sent a basic message to his patients "hey, im gonna be off for about 3 days, if you need anything, call, i doubt i will pick up, but i will call you back as soon as i can" he checked the calendar just to make sure he wont miss anything important, and sat back down, opening the game

Before he could finish he felt that sharp pinch on his body, completely forgot about the existance of that, it really was a **** device, soon he could not feel his body

Being dropped in this world was breath taking, he felt small, it did not matter to him that they reused the whole trailer in the start cutscene "Marvelous" was all he could say, his train of thought being interrupted by a pop up, "Create Character" it did not take him long to focus on it, he felt like a kid again

The world shifted itself into a dark room, nothing but a mirror infront of him, and in that mirror was... him, totally naked

"HEY! Thats invasive!" He claimed, but nothing to be done, he covered his crotch, and looked at himself, a little below average height, light brown hair with some brown eyes, not really a remarkable kind of person, but this look did usually help to make people more comfortable, he looked.... harmless "damn, it's far too real"

"Convenient, let's see..." Will focuses more on the first one, Race, after all, it's kind of the first step for a character... maybe the second or third depending in how you build stuff... he wondered why was Appearence second since it's normally the last step, and then the full list of races appeared, he was astonished, a lot of elves, but that was par for the course considering this was a fantasy game, Human was highlighted, as expectes

"Wow, that's quite the list.... man it this will take me a while" he said as he checked the bonuses they got, he still has to know what kind of stats he's working with

Might is the measure of ones physical prowess and ability to exert physical ****, it affects damage dealt by meele weapons and certain ranged weapons has a slight effect on total health

Dexterity is the measure of ones reflexes, balance, and coordination. It affects accuracy and reaction time. Has a slight effect on Stamina Regeneration.

Endurance is the measure of ones ability to withstand physical exertion. It affects lung capacity and how long it takes for fatigue to set in. Has a significant effect on Total Stamina and a moderate effect on Stamina Regeneration.

Toughness is the measure of ones durability, resilience, and vitality. It affects resistances to physical damage, poisons, and diseases. Has a significant effect on Total Health and a moderate effect on Health Regeneration.

Insight is the measure of ones ability to process complex ideas through logical thinking. It affects a wide variety of skills in subtle ways. Has a slight effect on Total Stamina and a moderate effect on Total Mana.

Willpower is the measure of ones mental fortitude and determination. It affects mental and magical resistances. Has a significant effect on Total Mana and a slight effect on Mana Regeneration.

Perception is the measure of ones environmental awareness. It affects how well one is able to cast multiple types of magic at once. Has a slight effect on Stamina Regeneration and a moderate effect on Mana Regeneration.

Allure is the measure of ones attractiveness, both in physical terms and in their mannerisms. It affects sex appeal and how well one is initially viewed by others. Has a slight effect on Health & Stamina Regeneration.

Guile is the measure of ones ability to deceive others and how well they are capable of learning. It affects a wide variety of skills in subtle ways. Has a slight effect on Total Stamina, Total Mana, & Mana Regeneration.

William mentally stood up after that battering info dump, and took the time to read the 12 stats, some seemed added just to fill extra space, but he was not a programer, nor a game maker to say that "no luck? Not that kind of game i guess, shame... why would i need allure?"

"Ok, seven points per level up, maybe more i didn't check, yeah, i guess this kind of game wants you to especialize in something..."

"I understand... what do i play?" A big question, after all, this is a IVR game, even if its just a game, ¿Who wants to be stabbed? "do i really want to go full brute? I will feel every stab wound.... maybe high dex? That would be fun, i had a whole 2 hours to think this, why did i start now? Hmmm race seems to be really important here, i could build sub-optimally, but i really don't want to die five minutes in..."
