Chapter 6 by elmer7780 elmer7780

Deny it all she wants though, things aren't looking up. What happens?

Nicole stumbles upon them when searching for her son.

It's been an hour since Nicole saw her son off. She and her family were able to find a relatively secluded spot and set up towels and umbrellas. Emily was the first to leave and she made sure to bring her sister along despite the college girl's complaints.

That left Nicole and Daniel to relax on their respective towel. While placing more sun lotion on her arm, she began to worry for her son. She tried calling him only to find out that he had left his phone in the car.

Although her husband reassured he'd be fine and that he'd find his way back to them, Nicole couldn't wait any longer.

"I'm...going to check up on Scott. He needs to at least take his phone back!"

Daniel puts down the book he's reading and raised an eyebrow. "Him? He'll be fine, right? You need to worry less about our kids, they're adults now!"

"Adults or not, I can't help but worry," she frowned, "...you know me. Plus, it's irresponsible of him to forget his phone."

Daniel glances the other way. "Well...it's not like that hasn't happened to any one of us."

Nicole cleared her throat and lightly slapped her husband on the arm. "Come on! The amusement park isn't that far away anyways."

Daniel sighed. "Fine, fine! We'll need to call him when we're about to leave anyway. It wouldn't surprise me if he forgot the time we're supposed to leave."

Nicole nodded in agreement but she also had some other ideas.

'I wish I could have joined him without him feeling embarrassed,' Nicole thought, sadly. When was the last time she had enjoyed time with her son, much less her daughters? Of course, each one of them is just doing their own thing.

"I'll be back, then," she assured, pecking her husband who hummed, squeezing his wife's hand in response.

Leaving their camp, Nicole headed off to the direction towards the amusement park while watching the shoreline with her son's phone in her hand.

She let out a pleasant sigh as the wind breezed through her hair. Away from most of the noise, she figured she could appreciate some alone time on occasion, though she preferred to be around others. Unlike Scott or even his father who are more introvertish, she's naturally more extroverted and she could say the same of Rebekah. Emily is somewhere in between though.

'I wonder what can be done for us to get more comfortable around each other? Nicole asked herself in her thoughts.

She didn't have any easy answer, especially now that her kids are about to go off on their own paths.

Her thoughts are disrupted five minutes in with a scream in the distance. A sinking feeling hit her in the stomach as she thought she not only heard a woman's voice but someone who sounded like her son. Automatically, she couldn't help but pick up the pace.

It took a few seconds for Jane to finally understand that she was not being delusional nor a fever dream - her arm is literally submerged into the young man!

"Wh-How is this-!?" Jane uttered, unable to finish her sentence at the loss of one of her arms.

While panicking and struggling to break free, her movements snapped Scott out of his daze and he could feel something attached to his back. It doesn't take him long to also panic and scream.

He wanted to break away as well, but his body still felt weak and his heart only pounded harder, causing him to grunt in pain.

'Merge...become beautiful...'

"No!" Scott cried, shaking his head, "...I'm not doing this! What's going on with my body?!"

'Merge...'

"Scott?!"

Scott gasped, his mind clearing up just for a moment as he heard his mother's voice approaching. Looking up, he sees Nicole only ten or twenty meters away. She's worried and confused as she only sees her son and another woman struggling to break apart from each other.

"M-mom?"

Jane also noticed the mother's presence and she tried her hardest to calm down. Despite losing her arm, she felt no pain which might have helped her retain consciousness despite how easy others would pass out. Her experience with many patients in her career might have served her best in keeping cool.

"Are you his mother? Help us! It sounds crazy, but-"

Not wanting to waste words, Jane turned herself around causing Scott to face away from his mother. Seeing the woman's arm attached to her son's back, Nicole breathed in sharply and cupped her mouth.

Even though there is countless of questions, she knew based on her son and Jane's uneasy breaths that she should try to call for help. Stumbling with her phone, she tried to call for an ambulance without another word but at that moment, Scott's heartbeat resounded harder than ever before, causing his mind to cloud.

'Merge...!'

He might have been trying his hardest to resist whatever is beckoning him; however, he couldn't avoid a deep, twisted desire to move in closer with Jane. All it took was to hug the woman, collapsing her attached limb inwards and then surprising her by locking with her lips.

Witnessing this scene, Nicole's phone dropped to the sand.

"S-scott, what are you doing?!"

Seeing the woman struggle before her son, Nicole rushed to split them as best as possible, ignoring the potential consequences of not keeping her distance. She grabbed her son's shoulder and tried to turn him away, except...

What happened?
