Newt's first date

It had been a perilous adventure, but now Newt, Jacob, Queenie, and Tina were able to take a breather. Sparks had definitely appeared between Tina and Newt, but neither were brave enough to admit their feelings. Something that plagued Queenie, as she was able to hear their thoughts. However, she knew it was rude to push two people together when they weren't ready. She turned to Jacob, the adorable baker who always seemed like a lost puppy when he stared at her. His thoughts also dwelled on the obvious longing the others had for each other.

"Jacob, don't spoil the moment." Queenie smiled.

"What, I was just." he began.

"Don't." Queenie said, firmly.

Jacob gulped and nodded. It wasn't often that Queenie showed her stern side, so he knew it meant he shouldn't push it. However, as the day turned to night, the conversation between Newt and Tina went nowhere, and before Newt left their apartment, Queenie took her sister aside.

"Teenie, I know you're into him. Just say so. What is stopping you?" the bubbly blonde asked.

"I don't know, what if he doesn't find me.. Desirable?" Tina asked.

"Really? He finds the weirdest and ugliest animals fascinating and beautiful. You think you!re worse than that?" Queenie asked.

"Gee, that doesn't make me feel better. At all." Tina said.

"I'm sorry. Hey, before he goes, why don't I give you something to drink that might give you the courage you need?" Queenie asked.

"A potion? Really? Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt." Tina said.

Queenie quickly produced a teacup on a saucer. She gave it to Tina, who drank deep from the cup before wiping her lip with her sleeve and taking a deep breath.

"Go get him, Teenie!" Queenie said, nudging her sister's shoulder.

Tina smiled and quickly walked up to Newt and tapped his shoulder. He ended his statement to Jacob before turning around.

"Oh, yes miss Goldstein?"

"It's Tina. Call me Tina. And, by the way..." Tina all but blurted out before pulling him into a kiss.

Jacob's jaw dropped, and Queenie grinned and held back a squeal of delight. Though, no one was more surprised than Newt. His eyes bugged out, and his arms flailed as Tina passionately kisses him. Once she broke it, Newt stood stunned for a moment to process his feelings and what just happened.

"I'm in love with you, Newt." Tina admitted.

"I... Think I'm on love with you too, Tina." Newt said.

"Great! Let's go out, have a night on the town before you leave the country. Again." Tina said.

"A date, then? Sure. Let's.. Go on a date. Uh, don't wait up for us." Newt said to Jacob and Queenie.

"Oh, we won't! Have fun, you two." Queenie smiled as they left.

"Okay... What just happened?" Jacob asked.

"What do you mean?" Queenie replied, acting innocent.

"I mean how did Tina, who has been coy all day, suddenly kiss Newt and ask him on a date?" Jacob asked, not believing her act.

"Alright, fine. I gave her a potion to increase her courage. With her permission, of course." Queenie explained.

"A potion? That works? Gosh, I wish I had that when I applied for that loan." Jacob quipped.

"It's effects are different for everyone. Depending on how strong or how light you make it, it can make the shyest person wave at a stranger, or it can make someone feel like they can literally fly. That's why I only gave her half the maximum strength, which is double the recommended dose. I knew she would be too shy, so I made sure she would say something" Queenie explained.

"So, you're sure she'll be alright Jacob asked.

"Oh darn. It seems I used a little too much of... Well it doesn't matter now, it'll have to run its course." Queenie lamented.

"What? What did you do?" Jacob asked.

"Well, I messed up the math and one ingredient was overused. It shouldn't mean much, but according to my book, it may cause the drinker to become less inhibited in addition to courageous." Queenie said.

"So, what, she starts cursing like a sailor, stealing things?" Jacob asked.

"A little bit more personal than that. I've heard some stories of spontaneous... Fornication in public!" Queenie said.

Jacob's eyes bugged out and he turned to Queenie.

"We should probably keep an eye on them." Queenie said.

"Yes, exactly what I was going to say." Jacob said before they left the apartment.
