Chapter 11 by earpsrhot earpsrhot

Is Mary's situation as permanent as Kate's? What do they do when they find out Kate's is permanent?

Naked sisters look for a solution

Mary nearly fell over herself in her hurry to get out of Kate's room. Kate waited a few seconds, uncertain, then winced at the sound of another wail coming from Mary's room. Tentatively she went out and went the short distance down the hallway.

She was greeted with the sight of Mary's butt, Mary bending over and desperately trying to grab at fragments of a decaying dress. She turned around, ****, to Kate.

"What's going on?!" Mary said.

Apparently the nanites were contagious. If he ever came back, Kate was going to have plenty to say to Bruce.

"I don't know," Kate lied again. She crossed her arms, while Mary took on a considerably more embarrassed posture, more at ease expressing herself than Kate. "You too?"

"If by 'me too' you mean my clothes vanish as soon as I try to put them on, then yes, what the actual hell Kate?! What happened to you?"

"You expect me to know?" Kate said.

"Yes!" Mary wailed.

She squirmed, and Kate's cheeks warmed. Stuck visiting her naked sister. This wasn't how she'd expected the day to go.

"Could you, like, turn around?" Mary said.

"That's not going to make the problem go away," Kate said.

"I know, but please!" Mary squealed.

Reluctantly, Kate acquiesced.

"You have tattoos there too?!"

"If I'm turning around, so are you," Kate said, cheeks warming. Those were meant to be a secret between her and Sophie. And Julia. And Safiyah. Okay, and admittedly a few others, but that wasn't the point.

There was a brief scrabbling.

"We should call your dad," Mary said.

"Are you kidding?!" Kate said. "You want him to see us?!"

"No, but... the Crows," Mary said. "If anyone can find whatever caused this, and fix it... Mom might too, with Hamilton Dynamics."

Kate hesitated. She had a point. There was no need to wait for the nanites to wear off if there was some easier solution, but she'd much rather reach that without being exposed to the Crows.

"Does it have to be him?" Kate said. "You've got a clinic, right? If we get there, no one sees."

"Yeah, but... I'm not exactly an expert," Mary said. She sounded conflicted. Even if it had less of a chance, the prospect of not being seen by family was enticing. "Maybe we could see if there are any other examples of this happening? Someone in Arkham or something? If it's something that's been done before, there might already be a solution."

"Maybe," Kate said.

She didn't harbor much hope for that, though there was the off-chance a villain might have done the same thing as Bruce.

"Any idea?" the high-pitched Mary said. "We can't stay like this?"

Do they go for any of those options? Does something stop them first? Are there alternatives?
