Mother.

“Riley, you home?!” Your mother yells from downstairs. “Come down here so I can talk to you!”

You are slightly annoyed by this but it’s better than her coming up to your room in the middle of your rump with Amina.

“I’m coming mom! I wish we were both dressed.” You say, getting out of bed. You come out of bed with a basic T-shirt and shorts. You turn to Amina and she has a sports bra, jacket and shorts. Both of you head down to greet your mother.

You walk into the kitchen to see your mom preparing to make dinner.

“Hi mom,” you tell her.

"Hi honey, how was..." she pauses and looks upon Amina. “Riley, who is this?”

“Hi Mrs. Williams. I’m Amina,” she says with a smile.

“She’s my study partner, mom,” you say on the fly, mentally wishing that your mom already knew that.

“Oh! I’m sorry I didn’t recognize you, I’ve had a busy day,” your mom corrects herself. “Would you like to stay for dinner, Amina?”

“Actually mom, Amina is going to be moving in,” you say, making a wish to make your mom approve.

Your mom looks confused for a moment. “Ok, but I don’t know where she’ll sleep.”

“I’ve already taken care of it. She’ll sleep in my room,” you say hesitantly.

“Are you sure about that?” your mom says with a more confused look.

“Mom, I wish you’d start trusting me more often,” you respond with a wink to Amina to make the wish.

“Fine, I guess you got it taken care of.”

“Thanks, mom!” you say kindly. “Why don’t you go and relax and me and Amina can make dinner.”

Mom looks at you with a smile and says, “Ok honey, thank you for being an amazing son.” She closes in to place a kiss on your forehead and then goes into the living room to recline. You're surprised that she didn’t argue that time, but remembering your previous wish might have helped with that. To be truthful, you don’t know how to cook, but who needs a chief when you have a genie? You wish up a five star steak and salad dinner and all three of you eat together. You talk about school, despite not actually going, and Amina talks with your mom to get to know each other. Eventually you all finish eating and all of you go to the living room and relax.
