Maybe start small

“I… you can tackle Vartox,” Kara said.

She squirmed just thinking about how she’d looked in the mirror. Ok, sure, she’d imagined being a superhero idly, even just as a fantasy. Not necessarily for real, but saving people, striking a pose, being celebrated….

All of that was humiliating to do while she was naked. Even just standing there she’d wanted to curl up into a ball and never meet anyone’s eyes ever again, and that was before Alex had walked in.

She couldn’t fight someone who was strong while she was like that. She was too scared, too nervous, too embarrassed.

“I’ll- start smaller,” Kara said. “If there’s a bank robbery. Or car chase. Or- anything I can superspeed through.”

She whimpered slightly.

“Ok,” Alex said. She hesitated, halfway out the door. “There’s no rush, ok?”

Kara gave a mute nod, not believing her. She didn’t just want the city to forget Supergirl existed.

The DEO could probably deal with the major threats; they had so far at least. That just left her to start with the small stuff. She’d already done a little with Winn.

Maybe she should just stick to that, mini tasks that she could afford to wear her costume for without losing her powers.

But, no, that wouldn’t work. She was still Supergirl, she’d still attract threats. She had to be able to defend herself, and apparently she couldn’t do that when she was dressed. Just when all she wore was that scrap between her tits.

Steeling herself, she walked over to the window, looked up at the Sun and felt its rays wash over her.

She flushed just at being in view of the window. Rao, she didn’t think she could do this.

Taking a deep breath, Kara **** herself outside, keeping her ears peeled. Anyone that needed help, anyone shouting…

She came to a stop high in the sky, hoping she was too far away for anyone to clearly see, and listened with her enhanced hearing. When she heard a problem, she opted first to peer at it first, trying to plan out the best way to approach.

Just so long as she wasn’t seen. Kara bit back a whimper.

Then, not entirely sure she was prepared, a naked Supergirl ducked down and flew towards the problem.
