Max as bait.

It was pouring, rain showered down from the sky soaking Max, her Jam Pony cap doing little to protect her from the ever present Seattle weather. Leaning against Logan's car she looked at him through his open window, he was warm, safe, dry.

'You sure about this?' Logan asked concerned.

'Yep,' she nodded back, small droplets of water rolling off her cap. Around the corner and two block down the sector 9 checkpoint stood waiting for her. It was Franklin Daniels currently assigned checkpoint.

“Just get him to notice you, that's all it should it take. No need to risk anything more okay, I'll give it a few hours then hack into the police database and see if your file has been flagged.”

Again Max nodded, she knew the plan, it was hers after all. “Seeya in a bit.” She called out before pushing off towards the checkpoint. She regretted lying to Logan, but it was unavoidable, and in a few minutes it wouldn't matter anyway. There would be no reason for Logan to suspect the truth, and then together they could put Frank away for a long long time.

It wasn't long before Max sat waiting in line waiting to be harassed. She had picked out Frank from group of cops maning the checkpoint from almost a block back and it didn't take him long to notice her.

“Well, well.” Frank called out spotting her. “What do I owe the pleasure?”

“Whatever,” Max glared back at him, “one of your goons told me where to find you.”

“I tried to warn you-”

“Just stop whatever you did okay. I don't need half the cops in Seattle thinking I'm there personal fuck toy. You win okay? I'll do whatever you want.” Max heart pounded, every muscle in her body tense. There were almost a dozen cars waiting in line, another two dozen people on foot. It was a gamble, but she was sure he wouldn't try anything, not here, not now.

“Good,” Frank grinned pulling a writing pad from his pocket he jotted down an address and handed it to Max. “Ten tonight, meet here; my boss wants to meet you.”

Without responding Max grabbed the piece of paper and pedaled away.

-Two hours later-

“He works fast.” Logan said reading the piece of paper Max had just handed him.

Max shrugged. “He told me too meet him there. Something about his boss would want to meet me.”

Logan shifted his gaze from Max to his laptop and pulled up Max's police record. “That's it right there,” he said pointing to a string off seemingly random numbers, “Normally the codes are reserved to alert police about suspects, outstanding warrants, overdue parking tickets, but that code there it doesn't match anything in the database. I found the same code on three more women, that's how he's tracking and targeting them.”

“So can you find the girls” Get them to spill enough to put him away?”

“I'm tracking them down right now Max, but we might have stumbled upon a better opportunity.” Logan looked down at the paper he held between his fingers. “If his 'boss' is going to be at this address tonight, we could bring down a lot a lot more than just a few corrupt cops.”
