Looks Through The Peephole

Knowing it would be foolish of him to open the door, Aaron lay a trembling hand on the firm wood. A series of breaths left his lips as he eased himself up onto his toes and slid the cover off of the peephole. Unsure of what he was about to see Aaron braced himself mentally before slowly lifting himself up to look out the small hole.

Aaron's eye widened in terror as he saw a slit pupil surrounded by a pool of red staring back. A small yelp slid from his panicked lips as he stepped away from the door. The Demon snarled wantonly as they began slamming their taloned fists against the door. Aaron was frozen by fear as the taloned hands burst inward through the firm wooden doors.

Wooden splinters exploded inward as the demon thrust their arm through the gap and effortlessly tore the metal hinges off of the door. Aaron began to tremble as the crimson creature retrieved their arm and snarled menacingly before pushing the door inward. Instinctively Aaron stepped back and allowed the door to fall inches from where he stood.
