Lilah Morgan

As Cordelia stared at the dark-haired woman who was peering into her box, she could not help muttering, "I guess I really am in Hell."

"Nice to see you too, Cordelia," said the woman Cordelia had known in life as Lilah Morgan.

"I'm sorry," said Cordelia. "But what else am I supposed to think? You're dead, Lilah. Either you're a ghost or I am in the underworld and if it's the latter, I doubt it's the good place."

"You obviously never worked for Wolfram and Hart or you'd realize that it's not quite that simple," said Lilah. "The senior partners went to great expense to bring me back. They went to even greater expense to bring you back as well."

"Oh, God," said Cordelia. "You mean they brought me back from the dead the same way they brought back Darla?"

"Not quite the same," said Lilah. "They're still trying to decide when to let you out of the box. And if they'll let you out of the box. Apparently, they're still mad at your former boss for destroying their pet dragon."

"Angel's alive?" asked Cordelia.

"Angel, Angel, Angel," said Lilah. "That's all anyone ever wants to talk about."

"Well, what would you like to talk about?" asked Cordelia.

"For starters, let's have a nice long talk about the way you killed me, Cordelia," said Lilah.

"Er, that wasn't me," said Cordelia.

"It was so," said Lilah. "I was there, remember?"

"I mean, I wasn't responsible," said Cordelia. "I was possessed by a demon at the time. But I'm much better now."

"Well, guess what, Cordelia?" asked Lilah. "You know all those evil things I did on behalf of Wolfram and Hart? I was possessed by a demon when I did those things too."

"Really?" asked Cordelia.

"Really," said Lilah. "In fact, a demon is possessing me right this second and encouraging me to do this."

And with that, Lilah closed the little door in the box and locked it. Cordelia did not hear her open it again until three hours later.
