There were a number of advantages to working as a lifeguard at the campus pool. For starters, it meant Mackenzie had free access to the school health complex as an employee, and swimming was an excellent way to keep her body in shape. Since she'd be watching over arguably responsible adults, the odds of having to actually deal with problems was minor. On the off chance that there was a real emergency, Mackenzie had undergone basic first aid lessons as a prerequisite for the job, so things shouldn't be too worrisome.

The lifeguard outfit was what one would expect, a one-piece swimsuit with "Lifeguard" emblazoned across it in white letters. Aside from that, Mackenzie had a whistle to get people's attention, and quick access to flotation devices to aid any people having trouble staying afloat. What could possibly go wrong at such a low-stress job?
