Kara reacts to the reaction

Kara liked working at Catco. It meant they got a lot of news faster than most places, countless live reports channelled back so they'd know what the breaking news was and could react and write quickly. When she saw a mention of Dreamer, she smiled.

Her training must be working for Nia to be making headlines already! Maybe people were appreciating her methods. Kara glanced at the feed curiously, before doing a double take.

What? Kara blinked. Where had they gotten that idea? She'd only stripped Dreamer of her costume so she could learn to be a hero without it, she was sure mentors did that all the time, Cat definitely had. Why didn't any of the reporters draw that conclusion?

Kara sighed, made her excuses, and headed up to the roof. The best solution would be to do something to demonstrate it was a teachable moment. She didn't want anyone getting the wrong idea, that could confuse a lot of people.

She changed into Supergirl, then took off. If she focused she could hear Nia's **** panting as she hurried down a street just over there. Smiling, Kara shot down to meet her.

"Supergirl!" Nia said. She was bright red, squirming when she came to a stop. "Can I have my costume back now?"

"Have you learnt the lesson?" Kara said.

"What lesson?!" Nia squeaked.

That was probably a no. Kara did make a mental note to rewatch Homecoming though, just to make sure. Still, it was a good opportunity to demonstrate that this was a strictly professional working relationship with her protege.

Kara reached out, and the next thing Nia knew she was laying of Kara's lap. Being able to float, Kara could easily rock back and seem to sit on the empty air even with Nia laying over her knees.

She was proud of herself, really. That could clear up misapprehensions and help Nia's growth as a hero all at once. All in all, it seemed like a pretty good idea.

A few minutes later and the next Dreamer related update came through to Catco. Kara got up, perkily looking it up.
