It'll become permanent

"It'll become permanent," Caitlin said.

"You mean- I won't need to take them any more?" Iris said.

She squirmed slightly; Caitlin glanced behind herself, then shifted position, trying to give Iris some modesty by shielding her from the view of the station.

It wasn't like they could go anywhere else; they were still waiting for Iris's bag, and even if they weren't outside was not an option.

"I mean-" Caitlin began, and paused. "Look, there are two components to the pill. The induced hallucination, that makes you feel exposed when you're not in order to trick your powers, and the vitura, that makes your mind convinced in the belief. The hallucination can't trigger without the ****, but the rest, the bit that's encouraged by an increased dose, that could stick."

Iris hesitated. She tried to follow Caitlin's words, but it was hard to focus on anything beyond her embarrassing predicament.

Caitlin gave a slightly weary sigh.

"You won't be able to get dressed," Caitlin said. "Your powers will stick, but your mind will be trained to not do anything about it."

Oh!

"Th-that's no so bad," Iris said. "I won't care. That's why I wanted-"

"You want everyone to see you naked?" Caitlin said. "They will. Look at the situation you're in now. You just won't want to get dressed."

Iris whimpered. Oh god, no, she really didn't.

"But I won't be embarrassed about it," she said, keeping her arms clutched over her body. "I- Th-that's got to be better than this, right?"

Just then, her bag arrived. Iris squealed slightly as the officer glanced at her, far too aware that chances are they'd already seen her.

Wouldn't it be better to not care? Even if- she whimpered - even if everyone did see her, she wouldn't mind. Wasn't that better than this?
