Chapter 3 by earpsrhot earpsrhot

What's next?

Earth 167

The latest mission from the Monitor was a simple enough one. After the success Felicity had interpreting the second Book, it only made sense to track down someone else like her to add to their resources.

Rather than simply find a second Felicity though, the Monitor wanted another perspective. Apparently a close enough person could be found here.

Kara looked around this new Earth. She’d heard a little from her cousin about this place. Quickly, she hurried to the Kent farm. Whoever she was looking for, she could have worse allies than Superman.

She found him hefting a bale of hay, looking like it was a surprising strain to do so. Kara hurried closer. He didn’t look exactly like her Superman, though at least he wasn’t a weird doppelganger of someone she did know.

“Hey! Are you Clark Kent?” Kara said.

He looked back at her, then looked her up and down, sizing her up. He sighed.

“Another one of those multiverse people?” he said. “Don’t know how much help I’d be to you, but I can give you Ollie’s number.”

“Huh? You can, wait, no,” Kara said. “We found the Superman we wanted, but I need your help to look for someone else. Apparently someone like Felicity is on this Earth, I hoped you’d be able to help find her.”

“Really?” Clark said.

He dropped the bale of hay, then paused. He shrugged.

“Sure, I’ll give it a go,” Clark said. “What’s Felicity like? I’ll let you know if anyone comes to mind.”

“Okay, er, blonde, talks a lot, really good with computers…”

“Ah,” Clark said.

“You know someone?” Kara said hopefully.

“Sounds like you’re looking for Chloe,” Clark said. “She used to help me out, in the early days. She’s… not far from here.”

“That’s great!” Kara said. “Sounds perfect. Can you point me towards her?”

Clark hesitated.

“It’s been a few years since… all that,” Clark said. “She’s… different.”

“How different?” Kara said.

Clark paused. Then, shrugging started to walk.

“Get in the car,” he said. “You’ll see.”

Kara sat in the passenger seat and stared out the window at the field that stretched out before her. A small archway had been erected with an unreadable banner stretched over the top, but beyond that it was remarkably plain, despite all the people milling around just past it. Tents, beatific smiles, flimsy borders marked out with primitive means, and… Kara swallowed.

“Your friend’s in a cult?” Kara said slowly.

“Yeah. Wouldn’t have called it at all, but apparently,” Clark said. “Blonde. Short hair. Over there, by the vegetable patch.”

Kara’s cheeks reddened as she took in the cult. It was hard not to notice the distinct… lack of clothing worn by the women, Chloe included. What was this Earth?

Deep breath. Kara stepped out of the car. She was here for Chloe after all, one way or another, whatever weird stuff she was into.

She heard Clark get out of the car behind her. Awkwardly, they both approached the gathering, and Chloe in particular. The blonde turned as they neared.

“Clark!” Chloe said cheerfully as she saw him.

She moved to embrace him. Clark coughed, taking an awkward step back as soon as she was done. Then Chloe looked at Kara quizzically.

“Um. Hi. You’re… Chloe Sullivan?” Kara said.

“That’s me,” Chloe said.

“I think I need your help,” Kara said.

She hesitated, slowly becoming aware that people were beginning to stare at her. Probably better to wrap up sooner.

“Why?” Chloe said.

“It’s… complicated,” Kara said. “Can we talk about this somewhere else, rather than in… what is this place anyway?”

“The Congregation,” Chloe said happily. “We celebrate the greatest gift given to humanity.”

Kara blinked.

“Which is?” Kara said.

“Boobs!” Chloe said, just as happily, and with no warning reached out and yanked on Kara’s shirt.

One of the downsides to being Supergirl was that her shirt buttons were rather flimsily connected after so much time being spent torn open. It took barely any **** for Chloe to rip it open, and with her new nanotech outfit, it wasn’t as if Kara had much more than a bra on underneath.

Kara immediately blushed.

“Hey!” Kara said.

“Women can’t wear anything to cover up their gifts while they’re on our land,” Chloe said sagely. “If you want to talk, you’ll have to do it here. What did you want again?”

Kara looked disbelievingly back at Clark. He lifted his hands, not wanting to get remotely into this.

Well, if it was for the multiverse… Blushing, Kara stepped out of what little she still had on, crossing her arms over her breasts and pressing her legs together, before turning her attention back to Chloe.

The congregation around her seemed to relax once she was nude.

“Okay, can we talk now?” Kara said.

How well does Kara get on in the cult? Are there any more surprises?
