Chapter 3 by ThomasMoro ThomasMoro

How does Buffy end up naked?

Doppeljägerin (aka Double-Slayer)

On her home world, they called her many names ranging from Shameless Huntress to Oy Vey It's Her. She herself preferred to go by the name that her dead parents had given her but since she had run into all too many witches and black magicians eager to use her birth name against her, she encouraged strangers to call her the Rabbi's Daughter.

For many years, she had hunted the vampires who had slaughtered her family and burned her home. Many people -- especially the clothes-wearing goyim -- said she was foolish to do so -- that she was just a girl who would wind up in an early grave because of her obsession. Yet she had managed to outlive many of her naysayers. Indeed, she managed to outlive many a vampire as well, having killed so many of the bloodsuckers that only one remained of the horde of vampires who had killed her parents.

The surviving vampire was said to be from one of the northern isles and had hair the color of snow. He frequently traveled in the company of a pale-faced woman whose hair was as dark as the Rabbi's Daughter's own hair.

The two vampires had supposedly escaped from her home world through a portal that led to other worlds. Few of her fellow vampire slayers had bothered to follow the deadly duo, preferring to concentrate on menaces closer to home.

But the Rabbi's Daughter no longer had a home thanks to the vampires. So she showed no hesitation in following the pair from one world to the next. Even when her trail led to a world where the city lights were uncommonly bright -- so bright that even at night it was hard to see the stars -- she still followed. Though the sight of so many people -- especially women -- wearing clothing did make her uneasy.

On her home world, the victims of vampires frequently used clothing to hide bite marks, thus ensuring that the vampire bites would go untreated until it was way too late to stop the conversion process. Thus the Rabbi's Daughter preferred to not only go naked but also stay in the company of those who went naked. Unfortunately, there were no such individuals in this new world, not even in this well-lit place known as -- what did the natives call it? -- oh, yes, Sunnydale.

However, the Rabbi's Daughter did see something she did not expect to see. A thin blonde girl walking down the street with a redheaded girl close to her age. Both of them were wearing clothes -- which wasn't unusual in this world -- and they both walked as if neither one had a care in the world. Normally the Rabbi's Daughter would not have given either one a second glance but the blonde girl possessed the same face the Rabbi's Daughter saw every time she looked in the mirror. And her body did not look much different from hers either.

Who is this girl? the Rabbi's Daughter wondered. Judging from the casual way she walked, she obviously wasn't a vampire slayer and yet something about her seemed familiar.

The Rabbi's Daughter had to forcibly remind herself that she had no time to solve this mystery -- that she was already on the trail of a killer and she had no time for side projects. Besides, the universe was probably full of thin blonde girls who looked like her. She was sure of it. In fact, she was as sure of it as she was sure of the name that her own dead parents had given her: Buffy Anne Summers.
