Chapter 8 by earpsrhot earpsrhot

Where does Kate decide to run? Someone's home, Mary's clinic, somewhere else? And, most importantly, how embarrassing is it for her?

Doesn't matter where she wants to go if she can't get there

Kate hurriedly ran down the alley, not slowing for fear she wouldn't get up the will to run out into the open again. The air hit her almost tangibly, the rush of cool against every inch of her bare skin.

She kept her eyes dead ahead, passing under lamppost after lamppost and blushing deeper each second her exposed body was illuminated. She did her very best to ignore the other people walking Gotham's streets.

"Hey, you there!"

At the sound of someone acknowledging her with more than 'holy shit's and 'wow's, she quickened her pace, still trying to cover up with her arms.

"God, another one..."

She didn't want to think too hard about what he was saying, looking around nervously for any vaguely more covered route. Instead she just had the street stretching out ahead of her, Gotham's blocky, archaic buildings stretching high around her.

Then she heard a car. She glanced back over her shoulder to see headlights starting to loom closer, a rather bulky car behind them. Kate quickened. The light illuminated her naked body all the more brightly as she ran, making it even harder for her to get what little subtlety she could possibly have.

The car passed her, and swerved. She made an effort to vault over it, only to run into a burly driver as he got out of the car, and before she could get her arms back to covering up herself, he'd caught her.

That was when she saw the words written in huge letters on the van, realized where it was from, and cried out.

"Hey!" Kate shouted. "Hey! I'm not..."

"Please. Exhibitionistic tendencies, no sense of self-preservation. Be glad we found you. We can help," the driver said, and Kate was pushed, still naked, into the back of the car.

The door locked behind her, and she was driven off, with only the driver's last words ringing in her ears. She knew how she must look, a naked woman running alone through the streets, but still...

"You're coming to Arkham."

How does that bastion of mental healthcare help deal with Kate's clear nudity-related condition?
