Chapter 6 by earpsrhot earpsrhot

Is there any way past for her? What does she come up with?

Distract them

Nyssa took a deep breath. She'd been trained from birth by the Legaue, admittedly not for sneaking past people naked, but she had to be able to make use of those skills somehow. She peered nervously over the ridge again.

Quietly pulling back, she felt something dig into her inner thigh, and reached in to grab a pebble. Weighing it in her hand for a moment, she looked out, then threw it as hard and as fast as she could.

It clattered against stone some meters away, and the camp of assassins was instantly on guard. Nyssa tensed. Just her forehead and eyes peered out, hair still clinging to her, as she watched them carefully eye the source of the noise. They started to move towards it to investigate.

For a moment, Nyssa scowled. They should have been taught better than to all go out to investigate a strange sound. Then again, it was perfect for her, all of them were facing that one way. She could have a word with their teachers when she was home and dressed.

Still, the landscape was fairly open, she couldn't just run and hope. Heart pounding, Nyssa crouch-ran to the nearest rock, some distance away.

She ran silently, and ducked low as soon as she reached it. There were rocks over the smooth ground, but none any higher than knee-high, making hiding behind most of them hard. Those she could reach, she crouched by, panting with as little sound as she could. Then, when it was clear, she crawled on her hands and knees to the next vague bit of cover.

This was too close. She could barely believed Sara had opted to put her in this situation. Admittedly Sara did seem to enjoy seeing other people naked, but even so...

She was the Heir to the Demon, and here she was on her knees, stark naked and crawling from rock to rock. She took a deep breath. It was humiliating, but it would be so much more humiliating if she was seen. She just had to focus. No one had to know.

She peered out again, and this time headed for a dip in the ground. She slipped butt-first over the edge, landing on a lower plateau where she was hopefully much more out of sight. She didn't relax, still didn't make too much noise, but hopefully she no longer had to worry about those assassins finding her.

That was just the first hurdle though. She bit her lip, nervously looking out over the empty plain between her and the cliffside where Nanda Parbat was situated. It was still a long, long way to go, and all that awaited her at the end of the journey was more exposure.

And who knew what would happen on the way?

Is the journey very eventful? Does she meet anyone?
