Could I really make it as a model?

Nervously, I decide to call the number for the modeling.

I'm a woman now, and a pretty one at that, I think to myself. Maybe I can use that to my advantage?

Knowing that two-thousand dollars is going to nearly clean out the last of my savings, I'm hesitant to make the call, but my excitement at the prospect finally wins out.

Calling the number, it rings twice before someone picks up:

"Your Image Studios," A friendly male voice answers, "My name's Daniel, how can I help you today?"

"I'm Jade," I answer hesitantly, "I'm calling about your add in today's paper?"

"Excellent!" Daniel says, excitement evident in his voice, "I just got a call from my 1 o'clock appointment to cancel, I can fit you in today if you hurry. Otherwise, I'm booked for the next week."

"Ok," I blurt out before stopping to think about my answer. Glancing at the clock in my kitchen, I see that its almost 11am now. I'll have to hurry to get ready if I want to make it, I think.

"Wonderful," He replies, "If you have a pen and paper handy, I'll give you the studio address."

Once I have the information written down and we say our goodby's, I get up from my dining room table and spring into action. It only takes a few minutes to get dressed in a frilly white bra and panties, my favorite sundress finishing out my clothes. My make up takes longer however, taking well over half an hour to get things just right. With less than an hour to spare before my appointment, I rush from my apartment.

It should take about 20 minutes to get there. If I take a cab, I'll make it on time for sure, but its going to dip into my already meager savings. Alternately, I could take the bus, its cheaper, but if the bus is running late, I'll never make it to my appointment on time.
