Buffy opens her eyes

One minute, everything was going black.

The next minute, Buffy's eyes were open.

And she had a white sheet over her.

Which was burning her.

Not literally but it was causing her enough pain that she instantly threw it off of her naked body as soon as she could. Then she wearily sat up and surveyed her surroundings.

Wherever it was, it certainly did not look like the afterlife. In fact, it looked more like a hospital ward. Or judging from the metal table she was on, a morgue.

Which meant...

She turned to the side and saw a tall man in a long white lab coat holding a bone saw that he had apparently been just about to turn on.

The man just looked at her and shrugged. "This is awkward," he said.
