Chapter 4 by AnonTea AnonTea

How so?

Awful party composition

Your latest challengers almost offend you with how grossly unprepared they are. This party consists of a Blood Witch, a Ranger and a combat-oriented Druid. No healer, no buffer, no stunlocker, not even a tank! In almost every case, the heroes that faced you always had a healer and a tank in case their little stunlock trick failed to work, but it seems these ones took your reputation as the 'easiest superboss' at face value. They're stupidly planning to defeat you just by dealing lots of damage in a short amount of time, and oh boy are you going to take any advantage you can get.

"Here we are, the easiest superboss in the game. I think we've got enough DPS to take him down quick."

"Got fire arrows and Sniper Shot, all set. There won't be any darkness to make our farming session tough."

So... another set of high-levelled challengers, overconfident in their own abilities. These kinds of hero parties are rare, but you love to face them.

The boss battle begins, and you begin rapidly carving out Illusions. The Ranger's number one on your list, those fire arrows might land you in deep trouble if they hit your throne room's torches. You send an illusion to distract the high-levelled marksman.

Your illusion charges him down with its Hammer and Chisel, to which the Ranger responds by turning his back on the fake and firing his fire arrows at a shape approaching him from the shadows. He smirks, thinking he's outsmarted you.

"Yeah, right. 'Intelligent' my ass-"

You cut off his words by Shadow Warping next to him, and hitting him with mighty Sculptor's Hammer. A visceral snapping noise reverberates across the room as his ribcage collapses. Falling to the floor, he sees the shape which he shot was an illusion. His final expression is one of surprise, before turning impressed. His body, bent the wrong way, fades into nothingness.

The two mages are visibly panicked, not expecting to have lost their Ranger so early into the fight. The Blood Witch's palms are covered in ichor, dripping down onto the floor as she casts high-powered Dark spells in every direction. The terrified Druid illuminates an area around herself and her comrade with a swarm of fireflies.

You lurk on the edges of the light, weaving around each spell. You have the rare opportunity to take useful prisoners. Either as beautiful models for your sculpting, their nude forms preserved in your mind to be recreated at a moment's notice... or as hostages, giving you the chance at greatly sought-after victories over the heroes.

If you want to take them alive, you'll have to be smart about this. You have lots of HP, but a few hits from either the Blood Witch or the Druid will spell the end for you.

You could take them on head-on, taking advantage of their disorganisation and fear. This would put you at severe risk should they get in a hit, though. You could also intimidate them into surrendering, but that might have the opposite intended effect, instead scaring them into 'Reset Character' rather than letting you get your hands on them.

Blades or brains?
