A news stream, telling some worrying news

"Breaking news," a blonde woman employed as a talking head was saying to the screen with a sort of incredulous smirk on her face. "An organization calling themselves 'omni-anons' have announced they have, quote 'altered the rules of the universe,' unquote," She said as she struggled to keep her professional persona going through the last part, before quickly moving on.

"They have released a video which we will show now before we go to our local expert to explain this situation," she said before glancing down at her papers as the video faded into view.

The video showed a person wearing a hooded trench coat. The character was wearing a polygonal golden mask with a smile and a mustache, inspired by various masks used in various media the past twenty years. They were sitting behind a white table in front of a white void.

"Good evening, citizens of earth," the character said in what sounded like a dozen slightly distorted voices talking in unison. "We are representing Omni-Anon, and we have decided to announce our intent and actions for this universe. But, for you to understand this, you need some context," They said as they grabbed a remote on the desk in front of them, got up as the camera panned to the side, revealing more white void.

He pushed a button on the remote and the white void quickly faded to a dark grey and a hologram manifested to the character's right, revealing a visualization of a phone with an aura of fire shimmering around it.

"A few days ago, the secrets of the universe were revealed to a select group of people. Some would call this highly advanced research or technology, but it would be more apt to call it 'Promethean fire' that we've discovered how to use. This group called this discovery, the interface to the promethean fire, for Omni-tech."

"Tragically, but also unsurprisingly, a conflict erupted among those who had access to this technology. Many alternative realities branched off our pre omni-tech universe. However, in our current branch of reality, we who are known as Omni-Anon won that conflict," the character explained as the graphics showed a timeline bursting into various new lines before focusing on a green one, time slowing down and the noise in the line stabilizing as it lazily rose towards the sky, neighboring lines moving in other lines, some disappearing and some branching off on their own.

"We've made a few basic alterations to reality to prove to people this tech is real. As well as a few changes of our own choice. Some might disagree, but we will look at ways to allow those who dissent to find an amicable solution."

"We will keep you updated on the situation on our website," the character said as a link to some website appeared at the bottom of the screen. "Here you'll find ways to opt out, or how to learn a few tricks of your own. Some groups are automatically opted out, but there is a lot of freedom left for you to explore. Enjoy your new lives and good luck," the character says as he points the remote at the camera and makes the video blip to black.
