Chapter 9 by ThomasMoro ThomasMoro

What did Diana see?

A lamia

"Oh my Goddess!" said Diana. "You have a lamia down here."

"Hey," said Persephone. "They all gotta go some place."

"I can't believe you brought an Amazon down here," said the lamia.

"Hey, Amazons gotta come here too," said Persephone. "So why don't the two of you just shake hands and be friends?"

"Are you kidding?" said Diana. "Lamias used to prey on Amazons back in the day, according to my mother."

"And Amazons used to kill lamias," said the lamia.

"Hey, you started it," said Diana.

"No, you started it," said the lamia. "Homer even wrote an epic poem about it."

"No, he didn't," said Diana.

"Sure he did. Certainly your mother told you about his famous work, 'Basilea the Lamia Slayer'?"

"She must have forgotten to mention that one," said Diana.

"Well, it happened."

"But surely all that is in the past," said Persephone. "So you can be friends now."

"Sure we can," said the lamia, baring her fangs. "Right after I make her one of us."

And with that, she attacked.

What does Diana do next?
