Sci Fi Vs Fantasy

In 2415 the Unified Earth Naval Forces vessel the Ithaca was ambushed by three rebel destroyers while on a routine patrol mission between two UENF controlled planets. A well armed Phoenix class Frigate, the Ithaca put up a fight but was ultimately overpowered when two additional rebel ships jumped into the fight. Badly damaged the Ithaca was to make an emergency blind jump into light speed to escape the battle.

The UENF Ithaca jumped into the atmosphere of an unknown planet located beyond any recorded star maps. The unknown planet's gravity pulled the Ithaca crashing into the ground, the ship's on board A.I was luckily able to glide the ship to a halt into a remote lake at the base of a large mountain. However between the battle and crash landing, the core engines and Light speed Drive were badly damaged, stranding the Ithaca on the ground. Under the guidance of Commander Romo, the ship's crew was able to establish a makeshift base around the ship's unloading ramp, erecting barracks, a mess hall, an armory, and forward command center all surrounded by 20 ft concrete walls and protected by over a dozen manned turrets. The damage to the ship would take months to repair with a limited crew and supplies. Although they ran their distress signal 24/7, they were well aware that they were out of communication range with any UENF colonies.

Emi was the name of the ship's A.I, she was flirty but knowledgeable and took the form of a slender Asian woman whenever she projected herself through the ship's holographic displays. It was her idea to make contact with the local population after her scanners picked up signs of nearby mega cities as well as scattered smaller settlements. With 370 marines at his command, Romo sent out multiple scouting parties to establish contact with these settlements. The Ithaca was well stocked with drop ships, vehicles, tanks, anti-aircraft artillery, firearms and explosives, they had little to fear beyond their walls.

When the recon teams returned, Romo was shocked at their discoveries. the locals possessed technology and a culture nearly identical to that of earth specifically western Europe during Earth's medieval age. Multiple races inhabited the planet, including an expansive human empire, scattered wood elf villages in the western forests, nomadic groups of humanoid creatures with large catlike ears and tails , as well as Orc tribes to the far north amongst others. Translator implants in the crew that fed directly back to Emi to decipher allowed for easy communication with the locals.

With the ship stranded and repairs a long way away, building relationships with the local factions while also refraining from interfering with politics and local conflicts is essential.
