Chapter 3 by Dekkar Dekkar

When you wake, how much do you remember of the Darkness?

three voices, but few words.

There is a war of conquest, a war of will and wit, the hands of gods guiding pawns upon a board. The light that burns, that kills, that which reveals cheated at the game, broke the cosmic rules, stole victory from Darkness. The favored son was killed, though his heart still beats. The tide was pushed back, the age of shadows lost when it was but a fingertips distance away.

But Darkness is Passion, is ****, and if the Light would break the rules, then a Daughter must be born, with no rules to bind her but those she chooses.

Two mothers in shadow, the black night mantled with Power, and the grey flower of Passion. They took my hands in there's as we crafted from bronze and black glass the body i would take, and let me choose the things to put within it. We gathered up fear and shame, so that my mark would be eternal upon those I touched, so that one day none could witness me and stand before me unwanted. My blood we chose to be filled with strength to pass on to my own daughters one day. I must birth an army fit to conquer a world, a Responsibility I must live up to.

As we toiled they gave to me a fruit from a far foreign garden, and they told me to drink deeply of its nectar, for a growing girl needs her energy, and I would need all the time I could get my hands on.

I asked them
"Melanoche, Carnachias, give to me something to remind me of my brother, so i will always know why I fight our foe."

And so they gave to me my brother's still beating heart, and they placed it within my chest next to my own, and they said in their voices that were everything at once but only ever themselves
"Take with you your brother's heart, so that even away from your mothers you will never be alone.
I asked them to give me their love, and they sewed into me a strand from each of their heads, each starting at the tip of an antenna, coiling through my mind and my body, meeting together in my core.

Before they left, I asked them for one last thing. To remove from me the chains I had already bound myself with. There were warnings. There was Pain.
When I Saw Again, there was Light, a flicker in the darkness. A petty little thing full of ignorance, offering me chains for petty baubles, their cheap tricks to replace the art my mothers helped me make. I agreed to do what I would already have done, and so they gave me their Eyes That See Truth, and their disposable tools, and they gave to me their only worthwhile weapon. Would they have let me go, if they had looked long enough to use their own Eyes? Did the flicker gift what it did not posses?

Regardless, I was put upon the path intended, and when i first opened my new eyes, it was on Ryunei.

What are our surroundings, and what is our first goal?
