Chapter 13 by tallywhacker tallywhacker

Where to now?

X0Y0

With the mage cowed and the chevalier ****, you decide it's the perfect time to leave the forest. Maybe you're rushing a bit, but with your recent encounter with the dragon, you realize the dangers you face. Apparently, other monsters are changing like you.

Heroes are one thing. They're powerful, but their power comes from predisposition. The world is designed to let them advance, so long as they know their limits. Monsters are carefully placed so any heroes that might come by will be roughly five levels higher. They're not supposed to win, but if they do, they can expect level growth similar to heroes. For them, it just takes a lucky streak to get high enough to overcome the game design.

Bosses are different. Bosses are supposed to challenge the heroes. They are expected to win sometimes, so in order to keep us from getting over leveled, we're kept within boundaries and our leveling rate is much lower. To compare you and the dragon, at the level cap, you'd be roughly fifteen times more powerful, but it would take you ten times as long to get there. With his leadership abilities, it wouldn't be hard for that King to overpower you.

No, you can't rely on leveling, but there is an alternative. You lead Erin down an alleyway and hop atop a barrel.

Alright Erin, You know the spells Mark and Recall?

She nods.

I need you to mark right here

You make sure to position your back as close to the wall as possible, and back-dash into the random access memory. This allows you to do a couple things: you can loot everything anyone has sold in this area recently and you can equip stacks.

Say hello to Decrepit Armor x56.

You are by no means done abusing the coding flaws, you do the same to the rest of Quintin and Erin's equipment as well as your weapon familiar, but this is by far the most significant change in fortunes. Because the stack is assumed to all have the same stats as the first item, you now look like this:

Possessed Plate
HP+4032
MP+672
ATK+2520
DEF+3136
MDEF+2184
AGI+224
HP regen +280/sec
MP regen +112/sec
Spell Absorbtion +168%

The reason why no one else does this, you reckon, is because of your natural -6 agility. -336 would effectively render anyone immobile. Additionally, this isn't a well known bug, and there's the issue of being stuck in oblivion after performing this exploit.

Summon Steed

Erin appears between your legs.

Cast recall, if you would.

You return to the alley, and Erin collapses under your weight. You'll need to see about making her a proper mount.

You do know another glitch, but you only know how to activate it since the hackers always sell you before its completion.

To do this, you go to Yolmud's Curios and sell everything you don't have equipped. Then, you back out to the main shop menu and go back into the sell menu. Now, you have 256 health potions, and if you scroll up into the merchant's portrait, you can sell your X and Y coordinates.
