Wound table

When HEALTH reaches 0, the character might suffer a wound. These wounds can be custom chosen based on the circumstances involved, but if you'd rather roll for the outcome or otherwise just want inspiration, I've compiled this table of possible outcomes.

I'm not happy with the idea that this is anywhere close to perfect, so if anyone has a better alternative Wound Table to use, please post it as a follow-on chapter from this chapter. Players can choose whichever table they'd prefer to use, or again, just choose their own wound outcome.

Also, keep in mind the circumstances. It's possible that an attacker may be holding back to avoid seriously wounding someone, and is just trying to knock the fight out of them. In these cases, serious wounds may not be the most fitting choice.

The number next to each one represents a roll on a D20. Serious or moderate injuries can also cause the bleeding debuff, which will drain stamina by 1 each post until the character can close the wound. If they pass out while still bleeding, make a near-**** coin flip.

1: Near-****. Flip a coin: if heads, you die. Continue to flip coins every post until your health increases above 0 or you die.

2 - 3: Serious permanent damage. (Losing limbs, fingers, wings, permanent brain damage, etc.)

4 - 5: Minor/Moderate permanent damage (Broken tooth, burnt skin, scar etc.)

6 - 9: Serious temporary damage. (Broken limbs, gaping wounds, etc.)

10 - 14: Moderate temporary damage. (Sprained wrist, swollen eye, etc.)

15 - 19: Minor temporary damage. (Bruises, cuts, grazes, etc.)

20: Negligible injury, no lasting effects.
