Worst Ranger

They finally turn around to leave and run right into me, the corrosive slime who spent the last few minutes slowly oozing down the corridor. They pull out a very fancy looking crossbow and shoot me from point blank range. Good thing I have piercing damage resistance because the thing still hits me for 10 damage. Down to 25/35HP.

I try my disarm skill and it actually works! The crossbow clatters to the ground and bounces right into me. Yes! As I start to dissolve it I can tell this must have been the loot from the first big boss. It was a near perfect crossbow with huge bonuses to its already impressive damage. It is the most powerful item I have ever tasted.

Thw cloaked figure starts backing up towards the dead end about 30 feet behind it. "Shit! That was my only weapon! Why did I sell the rest!?" Apparently this is a one trick pony and I just took away that trick.

"I might actually kill an adventurer for once." I think to myself as I lob a goo ball for a whopping 1 Damage.

"What can I do? What can I do?" Wails the figure. "Oh, I have have crafting items I can throw! Damage is crap but I have a lot." So that is where the rest of the skills are. This is a two trick pony, crossbows and crafting.

The figure starts chucking items at me doing 1 damage each. They are strange items this person seems to have crafted together. Oh well, I start eating those too.

After hitting me with five items I finish dissolving the crossbow and absorb its properties, giving me a new attack with the same bonus as the crossbow.

New Ranged attack, Piercing goo: 1 (+20) Damage. 25% Crit chance for 400% Damage.

I shoot my new goo attack and it hits the person for normal damage that is insanely powerful compared to my old attack.

"Oh shit! My crossbow!" They start to wildly toss more crafting components at me obviously hoping to off me before I can do too much damage. Talk about turning the tables. They get about five items tossed formevery attack I can do. On my fourth shot I hit a crit! Good thing since I am down to just 5/35HP.

They pull out a healing potion and regain most of their health. No fair! They go back to throwing things but accidentally toss a healing potion at me at first. Back up to full health! "Oh shit!" They start indiscriminately throwing things at me. Weird crafted components first, then some higher end components. "Oh shit!" They say that a lot. I look to see a spell book sinking into me as I start to dissolve that too.

I hit them in return a few times but I pause as the effects on me from the weird crafting components start coming in more and more. They are finally backed against the wall and another few shots or a crit will probably finish them off.
