Chapter 12

How do you handle this?

With Surprise

You know how to beat this pair, but it's going to take careful planning and focus on your part. It doesn't take long for you to move towards the acolyte, now directly above him, and loosen your grip. Step One is actually quite simple.

Loosing yourself, you come crashing down on the unsuspecting man and immediately thread your tendrils over his head and arms, trapping him and silencing him. He throws himself back, flailing his legs and uselessly wriggling as you lift a pair of tendrils and shove them forward, small sharp needles at each end revealing themselves as you begin to sting him. Yet his health doesn't go down. Instead it begins to slowly fill with a purple bar, over taking his health. All it takes is a few stings and he goes limp under you.

His health bar is now entirely purple, with a status effect symbol flashing at it's side. Thralled.

Experimentally you think something at your thrall, ordering him to stand. Without a word or hesitation, Vel moves to stand, though your weight and restricting his upper body make it difficult. With some certainty to the success of this plan you move off Vel, watching from the ground as he stands.

Mentally tittering, you access your stats and now notice Vel's stats are visible as well.

Vel Ar'gayln (Elven Acolyte)

Level 3

HP: 12/12 [Influence: 12]

MP: 18/18

Str 6 Dex 6 Vit 6 Int 10 Wis 14 Luk 4

Equipped Light Mace, Book of Chants, Basic Robes.

Spells Holy Light, Cure, Shield, Restore

Not exactly a great first thrall, but still useful enough. His spells are basic and he can't deal damage, but Holy Light is certainly useful for what you have planned...

Looking up at him now, Vel is standing stock stilk awaiting orders. You realize your Influence has no visible effect on him, save a black vein now in his neck, but more importantly you realize he's rather cute. Thin and somewhat lanky, his face is soft and feminine while his long hair and blue eyes give him nice features, and he lacks a lot if masculine features. So he's one of those who play elven men to look like women, clearly, but it's not like it's a bad thing.

The idea of testing how far his Thralldom goes is tempting, but you also have to consider his friend in the other room...

What do you do?
