Chapter 3 by Aqualis64 Aqualis64

So, what do you do?

Wait and see what happens

You might be bored but you aren’t foolish and attacking heroes that outnumber you and outclass you was not on your to-do list today so instead you stand there and stare them to ****, you have all day but Heroes have a very short attention span.

“Just shoot him already! He is just standing there!” was the comment from the busty teacher as she tried to urge her mage pupil on. “COME ON ALREADY!!! I have a club to go to later today!”

A club? Maybe she knows what this Iyarel place is? Or maybe she is going to it You consider the possibilities for this particular piece of information as you stand there patiently to see what the mage girl does. A notion strikes you as you wait however, and you decide to ask a question.

“Excuse me, would this club happen to be called Iyarel? Or is that the place where this club is located? Also . . . what is a club? I assume it’s a place and not something you beat your enemies to **** with?”

The two girls stand there and stare at you with stunned expressions on their face.

“A-are they supposed to talk?” asks the mage girl.

“Not with that level of intelligence, unless he happens to be a quest giver . . . they are programmed to be able to have light conversation” The bard looks perplexed as she scratches her head but you think you come to understand something, these heroes do quests for some reward and if they think you are a ‘quest giver’ you might just be able to tell them to do something and actually have them do it.

“Hey! You orc! Do you have a quest to give?” Blunt and straight to the point, the Woman seems to be the type who would do anything for whatever these heroes gain out of ‘exp’.

“I might . . . I might indeed” you say, an idea forming in your head. If your own tribe won’t take you in, why not build a new one with these outcasts? This area is almost devoid of life these days so you might be able to pull off a small scale conquest and take this town for yourself and build a small sanctuary for Orcish outcasts and other off cuts.

“Well? Out with it!” the woman seemed very inpatient to get and do whatever seemingly small quest you expected her to think you are offering.

“It is common knowledge that we outcasts are the dregs of Orcish society, many of us don’t even have the brains to understand they are an outcast. I want to see this change and perhaps make a tribe where we can live in peace, away from heroes and our former tribes and any who would harm us!” the mage girl seemed be quite impressed by your small little speech and was looking at you with awe. The other woman was still inpatient.

“Get on with it already! What. Is. It. You. Want. Us. To. DO!!!” geez, you’d think she had some long cleaning implement lodged up her backside.

“It’s simple, I want you to help me take over that town over there and enslave or kill everyone in it” now the woman did look surprised.

“I had no idea there was a quest like this here . . . But I think that it would be-. . .”

“I accept the quest! . . . do we have to enslave the people of that village though?” the mage girl cut in before the other woman could finish what she was saying.

“Don’t worry about that, leave those sorts of things to me” you grin at her response and at how you were getting the advantage of these heroes.

“Now wait a minute! This sort of quest is the kind the labels you an ‘outlaw’ and prevents you entering cities!” the woman’s attempt at talking her companion out of it was already too late as the sound of paper sliding over paper heralded the fact that the mage now had a new quest to complete. “Fine, I will help you but only because you are gonna need me to clear your name afterwards” the woman’s resignation made you grin again as you imagine the slaves you could take from that town including the woman herself . . . but that will have to wait.

But now that you have them, what are you going to do with them? The mage girl is weak and needs a bit of experience before she can be of use and for some reason you want her to be of use to you. To that end, there was a party of villagers that would be hunting your brethren right now . . . or at least, they are near one group of outcasts and waiting for a hero to come along and do the job for them, you could do the opposite and have a hero take them out for some easy experience. On the other hand, the other woman knows what she is doing and is clearly capable so maybe start by doing something a bit more ****? A guard post just shy of the main gates would be the obvious starting point then. But whatever you decide, you would have to do so with some measure of speed before they cotton on to the ruse and quit the quest.

What shall you have them do?
