Chapter 24 by trollsmithtroll trollsmithtroll

Which should you pick?

Vine Fiend sounds intriguing...

Intrigued by the first option, you decide to become a Vine Fiend. Immediately, you are wracked with pain as your body begins to shift and transform. Your body feels like it's pulsating as your vines enlarge—becoming longer and thicker. You feel your roots retreat and disappear from the ground. Instead, you feel like you are floating on a bed of undulating tendril-vines. Your entire body, save for your central stalk and your glowing eyes and mouth, seems to be composed of a mass of grasping and shifting vines. Your body is even less humanoid than before, it that was possible.

Well, at least I don't look like a flower anymore.

With some mental effort, you try to will your vines to contort into a new shape. To your surprise, they twist into a thick braid-like pair of arms, torso, and legs that end in constantly moving tendrils instead of hands and feet.

You decide to check your stats.

Wow! You jumped a full fifteen levels. The group had been stronger than you thought. The main offensive power must have been the magic users, with the melee fighter providing cover and support. Usually, it worked the other way round. You shiver briefly at thought of what might have happened without your Absorb. The same good luck that allowed you to make your first level up must still be with you.

What happens next?
