Chapter 5 by madmage madmage

The day's still long. What next?

Two Fair Ladies

You decide to wander about for a bit, see what was to be seen. It was a nice enough day after all. The sun was shining at a reasonable level. There was a faint breeze in the air. And two women were walking down the path. Wait, what?
You duck behind a tree, and observe. The one that stood out was the taller of the two, clad in armor. In fact between the closed helm and the full coverage of her black armor, the only reason you could tell she was a woman was the way her breast plate conformed to her boobs. She moved like someone accustomed to a quick purposeful pace, only hindered by a traveling companion that couldn’t keep up.
Her companion, clearly a bard by the flute she held to her lips, skipped side to side along the path. She was dressed, barely. Her skirt was a belt with ambitions, and her top was a strip of leather barely a finger thick, kept in place by some arcane **** clearly beyond your understanding. It covered her nipples and nothing else of her enormous rack.
“Clara, will you cease your incessant music?” The armor woman growled. Literally growled, it was a sound you expected to come from a bear or something. “It is beginning to give me a headache.”
“Awww, but Auntie Beth.” Clara whined, lowering her flute. “It’s a traveling song speed us on our way.”
“What would speed us on our way,” The aunt said, she just didn’t strike you as a Beth, “Is if we knew where we are. I believe I sent you to get a map, not flip your skirt at merchants.”
“Aunt Beth.”
“Don’t ‘Aunt Beth’ me, young lady.” she snapped, “If you want to begin a successful career as a hero, you need to prioritize.”
“Well if we’re so lost, why can’t we just ask for directions?” Clara asked. You held your breath waiting for her aunt’s reply.
“That’s an excellent idea!” Like lightning, the armored woman darted to edge of the path and snatched you from your hiding spot. In a single blur of motion, you were pinned to a tree and a sword blade pressed to your throat. “Why don’t we ask one of the locals.”
Fuck, this lady was high level. You’d never seen someone in armor move that fast. You barely manage to keep your cool as a mailed fist gently squeezes your throat. “Hey! Easy! Low level monster here!”
“Tell me what I wish to know and I shall let you live.”
“Look I’m low level, not stupid,” you roll your eyes, “You kill things like me all the time, not exactly the best assurance there.”
“I give you my word as Elizabeth Strongarm,” she enunciated clearly, ”Knight of the Silvered Eagle.”
“Word of as a knight, huh,” You were impressed. You didn’t think it was possible to get that lost in this forest. “Well, last I checked that was still worth something. Alright I’ll talk. Think you could put me down first?”
“The information first, please.” Strongarm said. It fit her much better than Beth.
“Don’t trust me to take off?” You didn’t blame her, “Okay, you got me. You see that fork in the path just over there? You wanna take the left fork, and keep to the left. That’ll take you straight to the main road. And whatever you do, don’t take the right fork.”
“Why, what’s on the right hand path,” Clara asked, as her aunt let you go. You were hoping she’d ask that.
“Satyrs,” You answer, rubbing your throat, “That path leads to the main spawn point for satyrs in these woods. They all live there.”
“Thank you for your time it’s best we be off.” Strongarm said brusquely, before striding for the left hand fork. “Come, Clara.”
“Wait a minute.” Clara asked, not going anywhere. “Isn’t it our goal, as heroes to stamp out dens of monsters? So why don’t we go deal with these satyrs?”
“Two women marching into a satyrs grotto?” You shake your head, this had to be Hero 101. Though you suspected she didn’t pay much attention. “All that will happen is you get caught up in the party.”
“Party?” The bard instantly perked up. Hook, line and sucker.
“Yeah, lots of wine, music and all the satyrs will be looking to get inside your skirt,” You could see her eyes glaze over at your words.
“And you’ll never leave.” Her aunt warned. Though you could see the girl get even more excited at the idea of an unending party.
“It sounds great!” Yep, she was an idiot. “Come on, Aunt Beth lets go.”
“No,” yeah Aunt Beth didn’t sound swayed. “You go if you want. I’m getting out of this gods forsaken forest.” And with that she marched down the path.
“Fine!” Clara marched down the other side. You waited until they were out of sight before ducking back of the path.

Do you follow one of them?
