The coerls eyes widen for a fraction of a second as carnal terror overtakes it, but it blinks the fear away with a magical tear stained with the magical energy thrown its way. In retaliation it leaps forward and attempts to strike with its whiplike whiskers, contact poison coating the length of the gripping suction cups at the end.
(Attack roll 1d20=3+7=10 vs Quickness roll 1d20=13+6=19. Miss)
Though the gripping tendrils are unable to find purchase on the Oni. They're now toe to toe, four legs against two, though standing so low to the ground might seem like a disadvantage, the creature could much more easily contort its body out of the way with all its limbs so close to the ground.
