The Truth, Or At Least Part Of It

“Well I wouldn’t say know her…” you explain. You sit down next to her on the hill. She has her knees tucked up to her chest and her arms around her legs. Her grassy green eyes watch you. You resist the urge to push her on to her back. “I’ve seen her around campus alot though. In fact, I think she was there on the quad on the day that I found it.”

“Okay!” She does a fist pump. “I think we know who we need to start our search with!”

“Our search?” You ask.

“Hey, you were the one who called me out here.” She laughed. “You have to see it through with me.”

“That’s fine, I guess,” You toss your hands up in the air. “Besides, if I’m being honest, all of this milk stuff is pretty hot. I want to see how deep the rabbit hole goes.”

“That’s the spirit.” She says. “I’m glad someone agrees with me about the milk stuff…..I didn’t get your name did I?”

“Mine is James.” You hold out a hand for her. She looks at it quizzically and then extends her fingers and gives a weak non-committal little handshake.

“You know, I think I’d just prefer if you called me, 13147…” She trails off. “I like to think of myself that way, and since you know about all this then there isn't an issue.”

“13147?” You ask. This might take a while to get used to. But, this whole experience is just surreal. Maybe before you talk to her roommate, you should find out more about the farm.

“Okay, 13147. We have a deal. Just one question though. I’m doing this because I’m an idiot who is way over my head. Why are you trying to hunt down who it belongs to? What’s it to you?”

“Oh that’s simple,” She giggles. “I’m willing to bet that it belonged to a cow. And if it is a cow who is doing this then she’s stealing from the company. If I catch her then they are going to punish her like you wouldn’t believe. And me? I get rewarded. And my trainer know how to reward a cow. I can assure you of that.”

Her thighs squirm. You recoil with a slight grimace.
