Chapter 9 by rabbitjack rabbitjack

Should you just take what you can get, or should you teach these Players a lesson?

Teach them a lesson!

Monsters, you decide, are the gods way of punishing assholes. These guys have it coming! "We're not just going to let those assholes go, are we?" Asks Pet, still fuming from their treatment of her earlier. Speaking of which, you're still not sure what her name is. "No, but we have a little time." You answer her. "First though, what is your name?" She seems happy with the question and the attention you're showing her. "I'm Brianna, or Bree if you like shortened names like my sister." She answers at once, then her delicate features scrunch up in concern. "Ohh... that might be a problem. Bridget's my sister, and she's kinda over-protective. And a lot higher level than I am. She will probably come after you now..." She trails off, not quite willing to meet your eye after delivering that particular bit of bad news.

You sigh and tug on your ears in frustration, but finally flap a hand at her as if waving the issue off. "Later. Right now, I want to kill those Players over there." This brightens her up immediately. "Only problem is, if they take damage, it will wake them up. And I'm not strong enough to fight fair yet." You kick a rock thoughtfully, a little casual destruction or **** always makes you feel better. This time is no exception, as as you do so, you notice the remains of one of your trip wires.

"OK! For now, help find all the vines and cord and rope you can." She nods her understanding and moves off to obey. You get distracted again, the view is remarkable as her thigh-high boots emphasize the round backside that bobs back and forth just above them. 'Soon!' you promise yourself as you move out. Between the remains of your traps and some rope that you find in the Player's packs, you manage to get enough for your purposes. Tying feet together and staking things down, you manage to get them immobilized to the point that you feel pretty safe trying to take them on. All still slumbering under the 'Sleep' effect. Just in case though...

"Go hide nearby." You instruct Pet. "When they respawn, I don't want them to know you were helping me." She seems ****, but eventually agrees. She draws her bow to cover you just in case. That done, you take your spear in hand and go to town. Starting with the Mage, you jump on his chest and begin stabbing downward with jumps and goblin curses. He wakes up immediately, but is unable to defend himself. The Cleric is the same. Its only the Barbarian that causes you any difficulties. He lasts long enough that he actually begins to break free, despite your having more than doubled the ties on him compared to the others. He manages to free an arm with his 'Rage' feature, and is about to become a serious problem when a pair of arrows thunk solidly into his back and he disintegrates into a shower of light as he is whisked back to town.

At the same time, you notice you've leveled up twice!

Goblin (Hunter)
Level: 4 → 6
Hp: 36 → 54
Melee Attack: 20 → 30
Ranged Attack: 12 → 18
Defense: 8 → 12
Magic Defense: 6 → 10
Agility: 20 → 25
Weaknesses: None
Special Abilities:
Dodge(Passive): Grants a percentage of dodging an attack equal to your agility.
Hunters Companion (Active): You may choose to bond a creature you kill as a pet.
Hunters Guile (Passive): Grants a chance of learning a special ability from your kills. This chance is raised the more unique your kill is.
-Trap Setting (Active): You can produce and employ basic traps. The effectiveness of these traps increases with your Ranged Attack.

You should have also gained some new abilities! First, meat-head. For an asshole he was really strong. You get...

-Cyber-sex (Passive): The practice of sexual content through an electronic format.

You stare at the screen flatly for close to a minute before closing the announcement with a snort. Really, you can't bring yourself to be surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised. Well, there's always the other two?

-Basic Alchemy (Active): The ability to create basic potions from gathered herbs.
-Minor Illusions (Active): You can create an illusion. This will effect one sense, with an area and complexity based on your Magic Defense.

Well, not too bad. However, now its time to leave. You really want to fully enjoy the spoils of war with Pet, but you want some privacy first. You've already been through an unreasonable number of interruptions. Together you depart the swamps and head back into the wooded hills that you are more at home in. In fact, there's a decent cave just a short distance off...

Do you get to enjoy yourself, or are there further interruptions?
