Take a look

Nodding, you climb up the step ladder once more and peer into the piñata. The modest pile of candy is barely visible in the orange-tinted dimness, but it isn't hard to tell how much it fills the thing. The pile you two have made so far barely reaches a few inches up the pumpkin's walls.

"Not too full," you call out, and just as you do so, you feel a firm hand on your rear.

Before you can react, a strong push sends you tumbling forward through the hole and into the piñata with a cry of surprise that's curtailed by your landing in the pile of candy. Looking up from inside as you lay half-folded over yourself with your costume in disarray, you see the angel's upside-down face smirk down at you.

She shrugs, and plucks the lollipop from her mouth to toss down onto your face. "I think it's just about full," she says before pouring one last handful of candy on top of you. "And... done!" She laughs.

"What the hell!" you shout, but she quickly closes the piñata, leaving you in cramped, sweet-smelling darkness.

A moment later, you feel the entire thing move, and you get the sense you're being lifted straight up into the air. "Not funny!" you say as you pull the sticky lollipop from your face and try to shift yourself into a more comfortable position. The piñata gently swing with the movement, and you begin to feel a bit claustrophobic. It isn't long before the walls of the pumpkin start to glow with an outside light from the top down, and you realize you're being hoisted through the shed's roof.

Bathed in orange light and candy, you feel around for a way out, but the lid is sealed tight and the plastic is too tough to break easily. The sound of the crowd makes its way in, and you make another realization: you're now the prize in the piñata.

You try call out for help, but it sounds so loud outside that you're not sure anyone can hear you. The piñata suddenly begins to swing, and it's unnervingly apparent that the game is underway. Making an effort to stabilize yourself, you feel the swinging get faster and faster, going in every direction and tossing you about in the candy until you're practically buried beneath it.

You hear a loud smack against the plastic wall, and flinch inward. The piñata is rocked, swatted and swung for what feels like half an hour before, on one final downswing, it suddenly breaks open in an explosion of candy and cheers, and you fall unceremoniously atop somebody.
